Techland, a leading Polish video game company with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a Junior Game Researcher for its Wrocław studio. This full-time role involves conducting comprehensive market, competitor, and thematic research, sourcing creative inspirations from various media, and translating stakeholder needs into actionable insights. The successful candidate will propose research methodologies, collect and organize data, and collaborate closely with all departments to ensure alignment and effective knowledge sharing, contributing to unforgettable gaming experiences.

Must Have

  • Ability to run diverse research processes (desk, market, benchmark, thematic) with strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Deep, practical understanding of video games from both a player and developer perspective, with strong knowledge of game mechanics, systems, and design principles
  • Knowledge of the gamedev industry, including key studios, market trends, major releases, and emerging consumer patterns
  • Excellent understanding of broader entertainment trends and ability to connect pop-culture shifts to their impact on games and player behaviour
  • Ability to source relevant data and translate it into clear, concise, stakeholder-ready insights
  • Capability to tailor research outputs to different groups
  • Advanced English proficiency

Job Description

  • Conducting market, competitor, and thematic research to support the needs of various teams, while sourcing creative references and inspirations from games, film, media, and broader cultural trends.
  • Identifying stakeholder needs and translating them into research objectives, long-term research roadmaps, and actionable insights.
  • Proposing research methodologies by selecting tools, preparing analytical frameworks, defining research questions, and building structured investigation plans.
  • Collecting, evaluating, and organizing data and supplementary materials (screenshots, diagrams, reference boards) from multiple sources, and producing clear, visually engaging reports, presentations, dashboards, and concise summaries.
  • Collaborating closely with all departments throughout the research process to ensure alignment and effective knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Ability to run diverse research processes (desk, market, benchmark, thematic) with a strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative methods.
