Reporting to the International Finance Director, this role involves shaping the overall financial direction, ensuring strong processes and controls, and scaling financial operations. The director will guide country managers and influence the business's future success. Must have:
- Own end-to-end finance function in LATAM.

- Fluent in Portuguese and English.
- Qualified Accountant with 10+ years experience.
- Self-starter, decisive, and operates with urgency.
- Startup mindset, willing to get hands dirty.
- Prefers flat organizational structure.

LATAM Finance Director
São Paulo City - Hybrid
As the Finance Director for the LATAM region at Sporty, you will be responsible for supporting our growth ambitions. Reporting to the International Finance Director, you will be responsible for shaping the overall financial direction, ensuring strong processes and controls, and scaling financial operations.
Supporting, guiding and working very closely with country managers, you will have a real impact on the business, helping to shape its future direction and success.
As a results-driven individual who is motivated by success and passionate about operational finance, you must be committed to staying at the forefront of industry trends, and building a competitive advantage through intelligent finance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Own the end to end finance function in LATAM. You will join a small finance team member in the region, but will be expected to identify and recruit additional financial resources
Design, implement and own all financial processes and controls. Constantly review and refine these to ensure they operate at optimal levels
Manage relationships with regional banking partners, expanding access to financial services as required
Utilise technology and external services to modernise the way the finance function is delivered. Do not do things simply because that is the way they have always been done
Be the finance lead for regional expansions into new territories, verticals, and acquisitions
Embed yourself within the operations of the business and develop a culture of decision making through the use of financial data and analysis
Create accurate, well-considered and business owned budgets. Identify trends and generate detailed financial and operational projections in order to develop reliable P&L and cash flow estimates
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-effective opportunities to manage the Company’s day to day operations
Stay up to date and ensure full compliance with local audit, legal, tax, secretarial and other legislation in a high risk, complex environment
Provide valuable, relevant, timely and business focused financial reporting, performed both on a periodic and ad hoc basis
Required
Fluent in Portuguese and English, and confident to communicate in both written and verbal formats. Business competence in Spanish is beneficial
Qualified Accountant with 10+ years experience, which should include exposure to high compliance industries such as Gambling or Fintech. Experience in media production is a plus
A self starter who works hard, makes decisions quickly and operates with urgency
Has a startup mindset, willing to get their hands dirty. Type A personality who thrives in a fast paced, high performance environment
Prefers a flat organisational structure, to engage with all levels of employees, and collaborate with a variety of different company functions.
