Job Description

The IT Finance Business Partner will establish global financial processes for PHINIA, focusing on IT financial planning, cost control, and allocations. Key responsibilities include reconciling IT costs, leading budget and forecast updates, tracking financial opportunities and risks, and supporting IT cost center owners. The role also involves managing POs, invoices, depreciation, and contributing to contract management, ensuring process documentation, and acting as a business partner for IT leadership to drive simplification and adherence to financial standards.

  • Partner with IT and Finance to enhance SAP functionality.
  • Ensure adherence to financial standards and processes.
  • Conduct ongoing financial review of major IT contracts/POs.
  • Assist in preparing materials for executive reviews.
  • Act as a super-user or process SME for SAP and OneStream.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.

JOB PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Establish global and consistent processes for PHINIA hubs and sites.
  • Participate in financial controls, reviews, and validation processes.
  • Map IT costs and reconcile monthly between SAP and the Financial Management System (OneStream) for all corporate reporting units.
  • Lead monthly forecast updates and generate IT financial overviews, explaining variances across cost centers and hubs.
  • Lead the IT budget and allocations process, providing explanations for year-over-year variances.
  • Track and communicate financial opportunities and risks related to IT.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required by Finance and IT Leadership for actuals and planning scenarios.

Cost Control and Allocations

  • Generate memos and decks, reviewing them with hub owners.
  • Monitor IT spending by function and category, providing timely and accurate financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Lead IT Allocations management process, ensuring consistent practices across hubs and RUs (Reporting Units).
  • Drive responsive process improvement based on segment and/or region feedback.

Financial Support

  • Lead overall process to track incurred costs for restructuring projects and to validate financial synergies from restructuring projects. This includes:
  • Develop and maintain a centralized tracker for restructuring costs and synergy realization.
  • Collaborate with project leads to validate financial assumptions and ensure alignment with strategic targets.
  • Support IT Cost Center Owners with data, analysis and communication. Partner with PHINIA IT Analyst to ensure a comprehensive tie between forecasts and actuals.
  • Contribute to contract management for PHINIA IT.
  • Approve AR (Appropriation Requests), internal orders for capitalization, and track AR items. Provide project tracking through internal order creation and project financial governance.
  • Manage PO (Purchase Order), invoice, and depreciation processes and tracking.
  • Liaise with suppliers and accounts payable on payment queries.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis as required. Responsible for standard and on-demand IT financial reporting requests.

Process Documentation & Continuity

  • Own and maintain documentation for all IT financial processes (e.g., PO lifecycle, AR approvals, invoice tracking, depreciation).
  • Ensure audit-readiness and accessibility of documentation across global teams.
  • Lead periodic reviews and updates to process documentation to reflect system/tool changes.
  • Establish and maintain delegation protocols to ensure continuity during personnel transitions.
  • Train backup resources and ensure knowledge transfer for critical financial processes.

Business Partnership for IT Leadership

  • Lead simplification programs to reduce manual touchpoints and simplify budget to actuals reporting processes for PHINIA.
  • As a change agent, partner with IT and Finance to enable increased functionality within SAP (such as budgeting, pre-paid software management, etc.).
  • Leverage learnings and proof of concepts to demonstrate the “art of the possible” for PHINIA digital financial management.
  • Ensure adherence to financial standards and processes, serving as a liaison between Finance and IT.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships to share knowledge, analyze report data, and offer professional services.
  • Conduct ongoing financial review of major IT contracts/POs.
  • Assist in preparing materials for executive reviews and stakeholder presentations, ensuring alignment with financial strategy and reporting standards.
  • Support rollout and training for financial tools and dashboards.
  • Act as a super-user or process SME (Subject Matter Expert) for SAP and OneStream, supporting troubleshooting and enhancement requests.
  • Collaborate with IT to develop medium and long-term plans aligned with general financial targets. Support IT roadmap, strategic view, and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) dashboard.
  • Continuously improve ways of working for efficiency, simplification, and data accuracy in reporting purposes. Optimize systems and data management.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Must possess a minimum of 10+ years of combined experience in financial controlling and reporting, and IT financial management systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good command of SAP and OneStream is highly desired.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems and tools implementation.
  • Modeling techniques and methods, cost/benefit analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience preparing ad hoc reports and analyses, as requested by management.
  • Ability to work under pressure to maintain the quality of reports and insights.
