Electronic Arts is seeking a Lead Data Scientist - Mobile to join the LCM Insights team. This role involves partnering with mobile game studios to develop data science products and solutions, focusing on AI/ML expertise for mobile gaming titles. Responsibilities include problem-driven approaches, generalizing products, reviewing projects, communicating findings, and ensuring robust experimental design. The role also involves working with data pipelines and building algorithms for statistical analysis.
Must have:
  • Create data science products and solutions for mobile game teams.
  • Apply pragmatic, problem-driven approaches to game team opportunities.
  • Develop plans to generalize data science products across titles.
  • Review mobile projects and ensure their success.
  • Communicate data science projects and products effectively.
  • Ensure robust methodology and experimental design.
  • Design and improve data pipelines using AWS, S3, Kubernetes, GCP, Kafka, Ruby, Hive.
  • Build algorithms for variances, state predictions, and trend finding.
  • 6+ years experience in data manipulation, statistical modeling, and productizing models.
  • Expertise in mobile gaming business models and technology.
  • Experience building applied models in retention, economics, ad segmentation, ML/AI engineering.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or Scala.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse/non-relational data techniques (Snowflake, Redshift, Spark).
  • Experience with query languages and analytic tools.
  • Proficiency with Git version control systems (GitHub/GitLab).
Good to have:
  • Masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field encouraged.
  • History of mentoring junior team members.
  • Interest in games a big plus.

The Data & Analytics (DnA) team is accelerating our game developer's need for advanced data knowledge and toolsets.

We are hiring a Lead Data Scientist - Mobile to join the LCM Insights team, reporting to a Sr Manager. The Data Science team partners with all of our game studios to offer data science products and solutions. For this Lead Data Scientist role we are looking for applied and practical AI/ML expertise with a focus on Mobile Games.

You will bring expertise in the area of AI, ML, and engineering, to create best practices for our mobile gaming titles and lead efforts related to life cycle management, economics, and player experience across all of our mobile titles.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with mobile game teams/partners (internal clients) to understand their offerings/domain and create data science products and solutions to solve for their use cases.
  • Focus on problem-driven approaches, applying pragmatic solutions to game team opportunities and decisions.
  • Develop plans to generalize products across titles with our engineering partners.
  • Review mobile projects, providing guidance and being accountable for the success of the project or products produced.
  • Communicate data science projects and products to partners.
  • Ensure your methodology and experimental design and how experiments can produce relevant conclusions.
  • Engage with other Data Scientists, sharing best practices and help consult on cross-projects.
  • Design, improve and work with our data pipeline that transfers and processes petabytes of data using tools, such as: AWS, S3, Kubernetes, GCP, Python, Apache Kafka, Ruby & Hive.
  • Use your statistical and computational knowledge to build algorithms for calculating variances, state predictions, and find trends.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field encouraged.
  • 6+ years of professional experience manipulating data sets, building statistical models and productizing models along with experience applying Data Science methodologies to real-world problems.
  • Expertise in the mobile gaming space, understanding typical business models, game development practices and technology.
  • Experience building applied models, systems or projects in the following areas: retention, economics/systems experiments, ad segmentation, ML/AI engineering and deployment technology.
  • Experienced in analyzing extremely complex, multi-dimensional data sets with a variety of tools.
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting language: Python is used, but R/Scala possible.
  • History of mentoring junior team members.
  • Knowledgeable about data warehouse and non-relational data techniques to work with engineering partners (Snowflake, Redshift, or Spark).
  • Experience using query languages and other analytic tools.
  • Experience with version control systems like GitHub / GitLab and developing Git branching approaches.
  • Interest in games a big plus.

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.
