Job Description

Salesforce is a leading AI CRM company, seeking a Lead Database Engineer. This role involves performing day-to-day production operations, including monitoring, performance, releases, patching, backup, and maintenance. The engineer will configure and maintain Oracle Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard environments, design and deploy highly available database solutions, and scale services in a multi-tenant infrastructure. Collaboration with various teams, documentation, agile practices, code reviews, and test automation are key responsibilities. The role also involves contributing to scalability, performance, and high availability projects, and investigating production issues.
Must have:
  • Perform production operational day-to-day activities including monitoring, DB performance, DB releases, patching, backup, and maintenance.
  • Configure and maintain Oracle Clusters (RAC) and Replication environments (Data Guard) and other database infrastructures.
  • Design, build, automate and deploy highly available, robust, resilient and secure database solutions.
  • Design and scale out services in multi-tenant infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to ensure infrastructure and applications work harmoniously.
  • Document all operational processes and procedures to optimize support and management.
  • Adopt, embrace, and promote agile practices.
  • Perform Design/Code reviews.
  • Develop test strategies, build automation framework, write unit and functional tests for solid test coverage.
  • Contribute to new and ongoing Technology projects in Scalability, Performance, High Availability, and Automation.
  • Collaborate with Architects, performance engineers, and system administrators on database and system optimizations.
  • Investigate production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 2 years experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience.
  • Proficiency in RDS, Amazon Redshift, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, Kinesis.

Job Duties: Perform production operational day-to-day activities including monitoring and DB performance, DB releases, patching, backup, and maintenance. Document all operational processes and procedures to optimize support and management of deployed systems. Adopt, embrace, and promote agile practices. Perform Design/Code reviews. Develop test strategies, build automation framework, write unit and functional tests to build solid test coverage. Contribute towards new and ongoing Technology projects in areas of Scalability, Performance and High Availability and Automation. Collaborate with Architects, performance engineers and system administrators on database and system optimizations. Investigate production issues and perform root cause analysis.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field, OR Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.

A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field)).

Special Skill Requirements: (1) RDS, (2) Amazon Redshift, (3) DynamoDB, (4) Glue, (5) Athena, (6) Lambda, (7) SNS, (8) SQS, (9) S3, (10) Kinesis. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable.

Salary: $185,058.00 - $253,000.00 per annum.
