Job Description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-end household appliances, is expanding into new smart product lines. This program involves developing new embedded software and enhancing cloud infrastructure. The Lead Embedded Linux Software Engineer will clarify requirements, design and develop Computer Vision components, maintain software, integrate new C/C++ features for smart appliances, optimize code, perform unit tests, and document components, working closely with the team and client.

Good To Have:

Professional Software Development Environment experience (CI, UT, SVN/GIT)
Experience in Scripting languages and tools (Python, bash, lua)

Must Have:

Academic degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering or similar
Strong C/C++ background, object-oriented programming and design
Strong Linux knowledge and experience
Good understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, code coverage, and quality
Strong embedded background and software debugging skills
Understanding of low-level limitations and performance optimization
Strong English communication skills (writing & speaking)
Team spirit
Enthusiasm for embedded systems

Project description

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-end household appliances, is expanding into new smart product lines. As part of this strategic initiative, a large-scale global program is being implemented across the company's IP portfolio. This includes the development of new embedded software, enhancements to cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Clarification of requirements in cooperation with the client and the team
Participation in the design and development of Computer Vision related Components
Development and maintenance of software components
Integration and development of new features in C/C++ for the next generation of a smart appliances
Utilization of common design patterns as well as the advantages of object oriented programming
Development of the robust and effective code and ensure high quality of the embedded code by performing unit tests, simulation on real data (software in the loop) as well as simulation of the software on the target embedded hardware (hardware in the loop)
Code optimization
Development of unit-tests, participation in the code review process
Testing on embedded hardware target and analysing logs
Documentation of designed components
Close interaction with all team members and customer representatives

Skills

Must have

Academic degree in computer science, electrical engineering, telecommunication engineering or similar qualification
Strong C/C++ background, as well as an understanding of object oriented programming and design
Strong Linux knowledge and experience
Good understanding of software development lifecycle, including understanding of testing, code coverage and code quality
Strong embedded background and software debugging skills, understanding of low-level limitations and performance optimization
Strong communication skills in English (writing & speaking) along with team spirit
Enthusiasm for embedded systems and ideally petrol in your bloodstream
