What does the team do?

The Ads Engineering team is responsible for driving meaningful interactions between users of Sharechat and advertisers so as to facilitate discovery and drive commerce. These interactions, if personalized properly, drives incremental business for advertisers and helps users discover services/products. We are also responsible to generate revenue for Sharechat so that we can continue delivering hyperlocal trending experiences to the users.

To ensure that this ecosystem of users, advertisers, and Sharechat is delivering value to everyone, we operate at the confluence of engineering, machine learning, personalization, behavioral economics, auction theory and mechanism design, testing our hypotheses through large scale A/B testing and making sure we can deliver while ensuring user privacy. We strive to solve large scale regression problems under extreme data sparsity (prediction models for clicks, conversion, transactions etc.), devise efficient auction mechanisms across advertisers and 3rd party revenue so that we can deliver ROI to advertisers without manual intervention, perform privacy aware learning so that we can strive for minimal user data without compromising on the value generated.

What You’ll Do?

• Design and implement state of the art algorithms for bidding and pacing
• Deploy the algorithms on large-scale systems and evaluate their performance using A/B tests
• Develop and execute the overall auction / bidding strategy to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with product, and sales teams to identify and implement effective monetization solutions.
• Drive the analysis of key performance metrics and provide actionable insights to optimize revenue streams.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in auction / bidding strategies.
  
  

Who are you?

• Experience with optimizing ads performance through auto bidding and pacing or alternatively
• Experience with implementing complex algorithms in the domain of control systems / robotics / game theory and evaluating their performance via large scale A/B tests
• Prepared to work hands-on to implement complex control algorithms
• Analyze the results of these algorithms and evaluate their efficacy through A/B tests
• 4 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s / Phd in a related field (game theory / robotics) is a plus
• Must be results-oriented, and able to handle multiple urgent tasks and effectively deal with ambiguity
• Experience working across multiple geographies with different markets & regions
• Proven and consistent track record of executing and delivering/exceeding against an aggressive growth strategy
