Job Summary

Define the framework and structure for a new online experience in the Dying Light franchise. Creatively lead an interdisciplinary team to deliver this vision, guiding designs through the full development cycle from conception to post-launch support. Daily tasks include advocating for the team, designing progression systems, gameplay mechanics, and online features, as well as engagement mechanisms and in-game economy. Collaborate with production, prioritize tasks, communicate with various teams, and support feature implementation. Work with player research and create design documentation.

Must Have

  • Define framework for new online Dying Light experience.

  • Knowledge of statistics/data analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of visual scripting tools/languages.

Job Description

Your goal:

  • Define the framework and structure for a new online experience in the Dying Light franchise
  • Creatively lead an interdisciplinary team of developers to deliver your vision for the online experience in the Dying Light universe
  • Lead your team designs through the full development cycle: from conception and prototyping through implementation, release and continuous support after launch

Your daily tasks:

  • Being the advocate for your team, knowing the strengths and weakness of all members and utilizing that knowledge to bring out the best in them,
  • Defining and designing progression systems, gameplay mechanics and online features for online presence of Dying Light franchise working closely with the high level vision provided by the IP’s Creative Director,
  • Defining and designing engagement mechanisms and in-game economy in cooperation with the marketing teams and biz dev teams,
  • Collaborating closely with Production to plan out the development roadmap, and define goals that push the boundaries of what’s possible,
  • Prioritizing and assigning tasks to a team of designers and developers discussing progress, tackling setbacks, finding solutions, sharing experience, providing feedback and coaching to your team of game designers,
  • Directly communicating with programmers, artists, animators, and other production teams to ensure constant flow of information & consistency across the board,
  • Supporting implementation of designed features in a structured, iterative manner
  • Working with the player research teams on defining scope and goals for playtests as well as authoring and requesting other data gathering methods,
  • Creating and updating clear and consistent design documentation used by members of the development team and supporting disciplines (marketing, PR).

Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience in game design for online and live-service (Games-as-a-Service) titles.
  • Prior experience as Lead Game Designer or Design Director
  • Open and and supportive attitude towards all members of the game development team,
  • Structured, professional approach to game design and game production methodologies,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Very good command of English,
  • Knowledge of statistics and/or data analytics tools,
  • Knowledge of visual scripting tools / languages,
  • True passion for video games, knowledge of latest titles and current trends in the industry, especially regarding Online, F2P and Live Operations market.
