The Easytrieve programming language product team in Broadcom Mainframe Software Division is seeking an expert C engineer to lead efforts on the Easytrieve runtime and compiler across multiple platforms. This role involves working on advanced complex technical projects, requiring state-of-the-art technical knowledge. The successful candidate will be recognized as an in-house expert on specific technologies, with decisions having a major impact on the organization. The position sets direction for high-impact strategic/technical projects, leads major initiatives, and is virtually self-supervisory.
Must have:
- Lead exciting effort that involves work on the Easytrieve runtime and compiler across multiple platforms.
- Resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Design and delivery of new products/process.
- Apply broad concepts and theories to achieve innovative and effective solutions to complex problems.
- Work on advanced complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical knowledge or industry.
- Be recognized as the in-house expert on specific technologies.
- Make decisions with major impact on organization, both internally and externally.
- Set direction for high-impact and/or long-range strategic/technical projects.
- Lead major initiatives/projects.

Expected skills
- Advanced knowledge of C
- Experience working with modern software development practices involving Git/GitHub
- Deep knowledge of Windows / Linux / Unix operating systems
- Familiarity with internals / implementation of one or more compilers, memory management systems, and programming language runtime implementations, preferably implemented in C
- Knowledge of Algorithms and Data Structures
- Having wide-ranging experience, mastery of professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
- Strong project management skills
- Expert knowledge of design and delivery of new products/process
- Functional breadth and depth, plus expertise in complementary fields
- Ability to apply broad concepts and theories to achieve innovative and effective solutions to complex problems
