Job Summary

The Lead Software Engineer will lead a team of Software Engineers in the design, implementation, and maintenance of client-side code for Jackpot Party Casino. This role demands a forward-thinking, critical problem solver capable of cross-organizational communication. Responsibilities include staff mentorship, managing development teams, understanding product functions, identifying solutions, reviewing requirements, rolling out new tools, and facilitating infrastructure changes for successful product deployment.

Must Have

  • Lead development of client-side code for games and tools
  • Mentor, evaluate, and recognize software engineering staff
  • Work closely with development teams to understand product functions
  • Assist in identifying potential solutions and determining technical feasibility
  • Review detailed feature/functional/technical requirements specifications
  • Rollout new tools/improved processes to aid development
  • Facilitate and communicate infrastructure changes
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in computer programming
  • At least 2 years of management experience
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience maintaining development environments for large distributed teams
  • Experience specifying and deploying scalable, highly available software
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming techniques and languages (C# or Java)
  • Familiarity with version control software (GIT)

Job Description

Position Summary

Leads a group of Software Engineers responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of client-side code for Jackpot Party Casino. This role requires a forward-thinking, critical problem solver who can communicate across the organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead a team(s) tasked with the development of client-side code for games and tools to aid in the development of game-related software
  • Responsible for mentorship, evaluations, conflict resolution, and recognition of the staff to maintain highly-motivated and engaged employees
  • Work closely with development teams to fully understand product functions, features and performance analysis in order to advise on appropriate methodologies for development and deployment
  • Assist in identifying potential solutions and liaise with Development teams to determine technical feasibility and level-of-effort to implement
  • Review detailed feature/functional/technical requirements specifications and ensure alignment with proposed platform solutions
  • Rollout new tools/improved processes to aid the Development team in delivering new products
  • Facilitate and communicate infrastructure changes to development organizations and ensure successful deployment

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Statistics or relevant area or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in progressively responsible positions in fields associated with computer programming
  • At least 2 years of management experience
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision
  • Strong management and leadership skills with a proactive particpative management style
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in working in and maintaining development environments for groups of 30 or more engineers distributed over multiple locations
  • Experience specifying and deploying scalable, highly available software

Preferred Experience:

  • Social game development
  • Distributed application (client/server) development experience
  • Game Development experience
  • Experience in UI development
  • Unity and C#

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a team environment, building strong cross-functional relationships
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented Programming techniques and languages (in particular C# or Java)
  • Familiarity with version control software (in particular GIT)
