  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Ability to perform work onsite at HQ in Franklin, TN.
  • Ability to travel to Washington D.C.

We are currently looking for a Legal and Government Affairs Intern to join our team in Franklin, TN.

The Intern will work closely with experienced lawyers, government affairs executives and related professionals, and will be exposed to a broad spectrum of the department operational and administrative projects.

A Day in the Life:

  • Intern rotation with legal, governance, government affairs, and sustainability
  • Specific project work will include research and analysis related to federal and state laws and legislation, tracking key issues for our business clients, supporting our sustainability initiatives and supporting corporate governance
  • Responsibilities may include:
  • Basic research and writing
  • Generating executive presentations
  • Presenting to department members on issues of interest and applicability in the automotive industry
  • Supporting department operational and administrative initiatives
  • Participating in meetings with business clients to learn more about how Nissan drives innovation to enrich people’s lives
  • Possible travel to Washington DC with lobbyist groups

Who We’re Looking for:

Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Pre-law or a related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Superior academic credentials and excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint a plus.
  • Energetic, adaptable and flexible to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive matters required; knowledge of online legal research tools preferred but not required.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Ability to perform work onsite at HQ in Franklin, TN
  • Ability to travel to Washington D.C for 2-3 days
