We are looking for a strategic and hands-on IP Legal Counsel to lead and manage all aspects of our intellectual property operations—ensuring our innovations are protected, our platform presence is resilient, and our business remains legally agile in global markets.

This is a high-impact legal role that goes beyond managing infringement disputes. You will be the guardian of Codeway’s legal integrity in the digital landscape—leading enforcement efforts on global platforms (such as the App Store, Google Play, Facebook), navigating cross-jurisdictional risks, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build scalable legal protection strategies.

You will work directly with our product, business, and executive teams to proactively protect our IP portfolio and respond decisively to emerging legal threats. From issuing cease-and-desist notices to advising on content and brand strategy, your role will directly shape how we operate, innovate, and scale.

This role demands a deep understanding of U.S. and international IP law, hands-on experience with digital platform enforcement, and a strategic mindset that balances legal risk with business opportunity.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING?

‍

IP Enforcement & Dispute Management

·  Take full ownership of Codeway’s IP enforcement strategy, managing all infringement claims, takedown actions, and counterclaims across global digital platforms (App Store, Google Play, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).

·  Oversee external IP-related complaints, ensuring rapid and compliant responses to third-party claims, including cease-and-desist notices and formal counterclaims.

·  Manage legal disputes and pre-litigation processes involving competitors, counterfeiters, and third-party infiringers.

Proactive IP Protection & Strategy

· Identify potential threats to Codeway’s IP portfolio—trademark, copyright, and patent—and take preventive or reactive legal action

· Collaborate with external counsel to register, maintain, and enforce Codeway’s intellectual property rights in key jurisdictions.

· Continuously monitor the competitive landscape to flag brand imitation, content replication, or unauthorized use.

Cross-Jurisdictional Compliance

· Lead legal processes under U.S. IP law while also advising on international regulatory frameworks (KVKK, GDPR, DMCA, DSA).

· Coordinate legal communication and document exchange with external legal partners in multiple jurisdictions.

· Stay up to date with evolving digital IP regulations and advise the company accordingly.

Legal Documentation & Advisory

· Draft and review high-stakes legal documents including cease-and-desist letters, DMCA takedown notices, licensing agreements, and IP-related commercial contracts.

· Provide business-critical legal advice to internal stakeholders—product, marketing, and content teams—to align creative and commercial efforts with legal best practices.

· Develop internal policies that scale with the company’s growth and enhance overall IP risk management.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING?

‍

Expertise in IP Law: 5+ years of specialized experience in Intellectual Property law, preferably in the internet, technology, or mobile app sectors.

U.S. Legal Mastery: Advanced knowledge of U.S. IP frameworks (trademark, copyright, patent), with experience navigating enforcement on global platforms.

Platform-Specific Enforcement: Direct involvement in managing infringement claims, appeals, and platform-specific negotiations on ecosystems such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Meta platforms (including Facebook & Instagram).

Strategic Legal Mindset: Demonstrated ability to go beyond individual cases to architect long-term legal strategies that preserve brand equity, safeguard innovation, and support business growth.

Autonomy & Accountability: Comfortable independently leading complex legal operations, while maintaining alignment with internal stakeholders and broader business objectives.

Cross-Border Experience: Practical experience working with international legal counsel or managing disputes that span multiple jurisdictions.

Exceptional Communication: Professional-level fluency in English (written and verbal), capable of drafting high-quality legal documents and negotiating with global partners.

Educational Background: Law degree from a reputable university with bar admission in Turkey required. LL.M. or U.S. bar admission is considered a strong advantage.
