Join Thales's Avionics Legal, Contracts and Compliance Department as a Legal Counsel - Contract Manager in the Civil Private Clients Aero Hub. You will be part of a dynamic, transversal team responsible for ensuring the legal security of all commitments, from offer to project phase. Your role involves analyzing tenders, negotiating and finalizing contracts for civil aviation activities, managing contractual aspects, and contributing to compliance deployment. This position supports Thales's cutting-edge air traffic control systems.
Must Have:
  • Analyze national and international tenders, including financial risks, and prepare responses.
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize end-to-end contracts and agreements for the Hub's activities.
  • Secure Thales AVS's position in case of significant legal issues potentially leading to disputes.
  • Manage contractual and legal aspects, draft, negotiate, and conclude settlement agreements in disputes.
  • Regularly participate in awareness/training actions for internal clients.
  • Contribute to deploying compliance instructions (anti-corruption, competition law, Trade Compliance, GDPR).
  • Draft third-party integrity analyses.
  • Actively contribute to transversal activities of the AVS Legal, Contracts and Compliance Department.

Within the Legal, Contracts and Compliance Department of the "Avionics" activity, teams are organized by Hubs whose scope covers the activities of several Business Lines. The head of each Hub is also the Compliance Officer for a BL.

By joining us, you will integrate the Civil Private Clients Aero Hub, which covers the activities of the AGS (Aviation Global Services) Business Line as well as certain activities of the FLX (Flight Avionics) Business Line. You will join a transversal and dynamic team.

This position is part of a team of 9 people, including 6 based in Toulouse, 1 in Bordeaux, 1 in the USA, and 1 in Singapore.

In the context of your functions, you will be required to: Ensure the legal security of all commitments of the Civil Private Clients Aero Hub, both in the offer phase and in the project phase, and as such:

  • Analyze tenders (including financial risks) both in France and for Export and prepare the response to these tenders in accordance with the process in force in the BLs covered by the Civil Private Clients Aero Hub;
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts and agreements related to the Hub's activity from an end-to-end perspective (including initial assembly and support activities) from the first discussions (preliminary agreements), responses to tenders, contract negotiation, and the entire execution and monitoring phase of commitments with airlines, helicopter operators, aircraft manufacturers, or MRO (maintenance), thereby covering the civil activities of the FLX BL and the activities of the AGS BL;
  • Secure Thales AVS's position in case of a significant legal problem likely to lead to a dispute with clients, suppliers, and partners (including preparation of pre-litigation files);
  • Manage contractual and legal aspects, draft, conduct negotiations, and conclude transactional protocols in case of disputes with clients, suppliers, and partners, in conjunction with the Group's litigation department;
  • Regularly participate in awareness/training actions for internal clients;
  • Contribute to the deployment of compliance instructions (anti-corruption, competition law, Trade Compliance, GDPR) to the operational teams of the Hub and contribute to compliance with current regulations in relation to specialists/referents;
  • Draft third-party integrity analyses;
  • Actively contribute to the transversal activities of the AVS Legal, Contracts and Compliance Department.

The incumbent ensures regular and relevant reporting to the Legal, Contracts and Compliance Director of the Hub, particularly by bringing identified risks and opportunities to their attention and keeping them informed of the progress of the files under their responsibility.

Some travel in France and abroad is to be expected.

Your profile:

You hold a Master 2 in business law or an equivalent degree, ideally supplemented by training in finance, management, or a business school.

You have at least 7 years of experience in this field and solid negotiation experience.

Perfect command of legal and commercial English, as well as Microsoft Office tools, is essential.

Rigorous and proactive, you know how to manage files with ease, demonstrate excellent analytical, synthesis, and judgment skills, while proposing pragmatic solutions.

Endowed with very good interpersonal skills and excellent writing abilities, you demonstrate an aptitude for influencing, convincing, and working in a team.
