Join FICO's dynamic legal team as a Senior Counsel, focusing on litigation and intellectual property portfolio management within a world-class software analytics company. This role involves managing pending litigation, third-party subpoenas, and overseeing corporate patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios. You will also support internal policies for software product development and intellectual property protection, and assist with regulatory compliance in areas like data privacy, security, and artificial intelligence. The position requires building strong relationships with internal business clients to provide practical legal advice aligned with business goals.
Must have:
  • Manage pending and threatened litigation, responses to third-party subpoenas, and efficient resolution of informal disputes.
  • Oversee the prosecution and maintenance of a corporate patent, trademark and copyright portfolio, and manage and administer a corporate trade secret program.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of internal policies and procedures for development of software products and protection of intellectual property and trade secrets.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance matters, such as data privacy and security, and artificial intelligence.

What You’ll Contribute

  • Manage pending and threatened litigation, responses to third-party subpoenas, and efficient resolution of informal disputes.
  • Oversee the prosecution and maintenance of a corporate patent, trademark and copyright portfolio, and manage and administer a corporate trade secret program.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of internal policies and procedures for development of software products and protection of intellectual property and trade secrets.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance matters, such as data privacy and security, and artificial intelligence.

What We’re Seeking

  • Juris Doctor degree and excellent academic credentials.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • At least five years of experience working in litigation, intellectual property, and a track record of success either in-house or at a law firm (SaaS environment).
  • Ability to work with and manage outside and IP counsel, and to independently interact with opposing counsel and counterparties.
  • Industry and legal knowledge relevant to the development, licensing and operation of software products, including an understanding of open source licenses, in a SaaS environment.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to understand issues quickly, articulate complex matters clearly, both verbally and in writing, and develop effective legal strategies to protect and advance the company’s interests.
  • Ability to work effectively and with attention to detail while managing multiple time-sensitive projects in parallel.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in the areas of data privacy, cyber security, artificial intelligence, consumer credit, consumer reporting, and consumer financial products and services.

The targeted base pay range for this role is: $116,000 to $182,000 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills and experience.
