Job Summary

The Lifestyle Show Host at WCBD TV, an NBC Affiliate Station owned by Nexstar Media Inc. in Charleston, SC, is responsible for hosting a daily television program. This role involves conducting in-studio and on-location interviews, assisting the Executive Producer with segment writing, researching topics, and developing questions for guests. The host will also collect media at remote locations, greet guests, attend daily show meetings, assist sales with client presentations, and promote the show through events and social media.

Must Have

  • Provide daily on camera contributions to a daily television show
  • Assist Executive Producer with writing show segments
  • Interview show guests/clients both in studio and on location
  • Collect information, video or photos at remote locations for post-production
  • Greet and assist guests during show preparations
  • Research show topics and develop questions for guests in coordination with Executive Producer
  • Attend daily show meeting
  • Assist sales on presentations including meeting with clients
  • Participate in events to promote the show
  • Maintain a show social media account and assist with all online content
  • Bachelor's degree in film, photography, television, news, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience as a host or on-air personality
  • Video introduction is required
  • Ability to prioritize and address multiple project with varying production timelines
  • Energetic, positive and great in a team environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Job Description

WCBD TV is an NBC Affiliate Station owned by Nexstar Media Inc. We are located in the beautiful Lowcountry area of Charleston, SC. Charleston is known for its warm weather, friendly people, charming downtown, outstanding food, beautiful beaches, and so much history.

The Lifestyle Show Host is responsible for hosting a program, conducting in-studio interview segments, and participating in on-location segments as scheduled.

  • Provide daily on camera contributions to a daily television show
  • Assisting Executive Producer with writing show segments
  • Interviewing show guests/clients both in studio and on location
  • Collecting information, video or photos at remote locations for post-production
  • Greeting and assisting guests during show preparations.
  • Researching show topics and developing questions for guests in coordination with Executive Producer
  • Attending daily show meeting

  • Participating in events –either station-sponsored or others – to promote the show

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in film, photography, television, news, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience as a host or on-air personality
  • Video introduction is required

  • Must be energetic, positive and great in a team environment
  • Must be highly motivated self-starter, able to work well alone and as part of a team
