Machine Learning Engineer

Apple is seeking a passionate Machine Learning Engineer for the Video Computer Vision (VCV) organization. This role involves developing new technologies for Apple's next-generation products, focusing on people understanding from real-time video streams and building higher-level reasoning algorithms. The VCV team has delivered biometric features like Face ID and Optic ID, powering Apple Vision Pro, iPhone, and iPad. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence through research and engineering, balancing innovation with state-of-the-art experiences.

Must Have

• Background in machine learning and deep learning
• Proficiency in Python programming
• Experience using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
• BS and a minimum of 3 years of industry experience

Good to Have

• Experience in object detection, vision transformers and multimodal networks
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Creativity and curiosity for solving highly complex problems
• Experience in biometrics, face tracking, gaze tracking, classical image processing, or computer vision
• Familiarity with cloud technologies is a plus
• MS or PhD in related field

• As a CV/ML engineer, you will develop new technologies for Apple’s next generation products. The focus will be innovating and delivering effective, efficient and well-tested computer vision based solutions from prototyping to shipping that are often deployed on edge devices.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
