Job Description

The LEAD program is an accelerated two-year career development program at Avery Dennison, focusing on leadership and career growth. Participants undergo comprehensive training, including on-the-job rotations, stretch assignments, and learning modules, guided by managers and mentors. As a LEAD Associate in Technical Services, you will learn customer lifecycle support, from pre-sales consultation to resolving post-sales issues, and rotate through various departments like Product Management, Sales, Operations, and R&D to gain broad business understanding. Successful completion may lead to a permanent managerial position.
Must Have:
  • Learn technical support throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Diagnose and analyze product problems.
  • Manage service requests.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, production, quality).
  • Optimize products and address complex customer concerns.
  • Handle complaints and compensation.
  • Pick up customer education through professional training.
  • Create essential technical documentation.
  • Rotate through various departments (Product Management, Sales, Operations, and R&D).
  • Work on live crucial projects impacting day-to-day business.
  • Develop technical, functional, and leadership skills in Technical Services.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Packaging Engineering/Technology or Printing Engineering/Technology.
  • Less than 2 years of professional experience (fresh graduates welcome).
  • First Class or Upper Second Class grades (at least 75%).
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken local language and English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to join in July.

ABOUT LEAD:

The LEAD program is an accelerated growth career program that takes two years on average and emphasizes your experience in leadership and career development. The program has a comprehensive framework, depending on your chosen field, that covers on-the-job training through sub-functional and cross-functional rotations, stretch assignments and learning and training.

When you embark on your journey with us, you will participate in two-week onboarding programs to learn about the company and all important areas of the organization. You will also be guided by various managers at different stages of the project and coached by a mentor who is usually a leader of the organization.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be assessed on your overall performance and, if performing well, will be offered a job placement. You will also be paired with a program associate who will serve as a buddy to provide mutual support throughout the journey.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

As LEAD Associate, Technical Services

  • You will begin your journey in the Technical Services function within the PM Team to learn about technical support throughout the customer lifecycle, from pre-sales technical consultation and solution preparation to promptly resolving post-sales technical issues via various channels. Skills include diagnosing and analyzing product problems, managing service requests, and collaborating closely with internal teams (R&D, production, quality) to optimize products and address complex customer concerns, including handling complaints and compensation.
  • Additionally, you will pick up customer education through professional training and the creation of essential technical documentation.
  • Subsequently, you will rotate through various departments such as Product Management, Sales, Operations, and R&D. These rotations are designed to equip you with comprehensive knowledge and skills, enabling you to excel in Technical Services and gain a deep understanding of Avery Dennison's businesses.
  • Each rotation can vary from 2 to 8 months depending on the projects and tasks assigned to you.
  • You will be working on live crucial projects that impact our day to day business.
  • You will develop your technical, functional and leadership skills in Technical Services.
  • Other than a line manager, you will be assigned a Mentor to guide you in your career development and navigate the organisation.

The LEAD program's sole purpose is to cultivate leaders at every level, driving Avery Dennison's business and market expansion. Exceptional performance throughout the 6-month review period and prior to program graduation may lead to a permanent managerial position.
