Job Duties: Lead a talented full-stack team of backend and frontend engineers. Mentor and guide the development of team members in a tailored empathetic manner suited for each individual. Build collaborative and inclusive teams. Own team’s deliverables and ship high quality, maintainable software. Build and maintain a healthy prioritized backlog in alignment with team goals. Collaborate with product managers, business units, and analytics to brainstorm and build the next generation of product and scale it. Layout technical vision for the team. Push the bar to solve complex technical challenges of scale and performance. Maintain a balance between short term and long term goals while shipping high impact products quickly. Partner effectively and influence peers and senior leadership both within the organization and across eBay. Manage highly available, large scale, high volume deployments on eBay’s cloud platform – Kubernetes. Ensure security best practices are coordinated in eBay’s development and deployment processes. Stay abreast of architectural standard methodologies. Lead by example, giving high-quality code reviews, and encouraging a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance of the worksite. Manage 15 direct reports in the role of Software Developer. Requires up to 10% travel, both domestic and international.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
1. Experience designing and developing large-scale software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (3 years)
2. Managing a small to medium-sized team of software developers (3 years)
3. Building large-scale distributed systems with high availability, scalability, and resilience (3 years)
4. Working in Agile teams (3 years)
5. Python (1 year)
6. AWS services such as EC2, SE3, Cognito, EKS, Open Search, DynamoDB, Lambda, Kinesis, and CloudFormation (2 years)
7. Microservices, event driven architecture, and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or Docker (3 years)
8. Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using AWS native services such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodeCommit (3 years)
9. Networking, security, and database design (1 year)
10. Developing and driving adoption of technical patterns that significantly improved engineering practices across an organization (1 year)
Salary: $264,514.00-$280,900.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
