Job Description

As the Market Change & Training Lead for UK & Ireland, you will be crucial in implementing a new HR technology system and processes. You will customize the global approach, developing a local plan to execute the change strategy and training plans. Your goal is to drive adoption of new technologies and working methods. You will be responsible for change management, readiness, communications, training, and program management. This includes developing a market communications plan, delivering end-user training, and coordinating with various workstreams. The role is part of a matrixed team helping shape McDonald’s future for corporate employees. The key customers are the HR business and all corporate employees. This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC) and is hybrid, with 3 days in the East Finchley office and 2 days remotely.

The Opportunity 

As one of the world’s largest brands, McDonald's aspires to be as well known for our people as we are for our burgers & fries.  That means creating a seamless employee experience in our restaurants and with our corporate staff around the world.  This role would be responsible for understanding the change and training needs associated with a digital ecosystem of employee-facing technology we are investing in.

As the Change & Training Lead for UK & Ireland, you'll be crucial in implementing an HR technology system and new processes across the HR team and for all corporate employees.

You'll support the Global People Modernisation change team who will be developing the Global Change Management Approach and Blueprint alongside the learning plans and materials that will be leveraged across all deployments.

Your role will be to customise the Global approach and develop a local plan, localising the materials to execute the change strategy and training plans for the Market in a relevant and engaging way.

Your goal is to drive adoption of new technologies and working methods, helping people adapt to the future Global People function. You will direct change management processes and training deliverables, focusing on enabling transformation.

What will my accountabilities be? (Initiative Growth & Deployment)

  • Support change for large scale global solution implementation inclusive of building & planning, executing, and tracking the change plan milestones across Change, Communications and Training.
  • Change Management and Readiness:
    • Carries out the Global change management strategy and solution deployment plans through initiating, documenting, and delivering change processes. Including the definition, management and execution of the market change plan
    • Support global program team in understanding where market customizations are required for the program (e.g. for legislative reasons)
    • Develop key deliverables to support the market change plan including but not limited to;
      • Stakeholder map
      • Change Impact Assessment
      • Organizational readiness analysis
      • Lessons learned
    • Conduct regular stakeholder engagement, acting as a local point of contact for market stakeholders
    • Implement initiatives to develop market employees’ understanding and acceptance of impacts on specific job roles, policies, technology impacts and business practices / ways of working
    • Measure readiness of the market for the program and define/deliver appropriate change interventions
    • Establish and lead a Change Network to help market understand change and drive support/advocacy in the market for the program
    • Deliver post-implementation support & reinforcement to enable and embed the system, process, and behavioural change driven by the program in the market through effective change management
  • Communications:
    • Developing a market communications plan
    • Localise and refine Global communications or create market-specific messaging for each stakeholder group with relevance, leveraging both functional insight and knowledge on local ways of working
    • Develop communications approval process, including alignment with functional experts and senior stakeholders for their review
    • With support of the Impact team, deliver market communications (including system and cutover communications)
  • Training:
    • Review and localise training materials developed by the Global program team
    • Support the establishment of a train-the-trainer network
    • Coordinate and deliver end-user training (including managing scheduling and logistics)
    • Assist with the identification of Super Users and their activity within market
  • Program Management
    • Coordinate, communicate and collaborate between all related workstreams across the GPMod program team, including program management, organisation design/operating model, process/policy harmonisation, technical testing, and other adjacent projects impacting the target audience as needed
    • Document and manage escalations of change impacts and organisational readiness to limit potential risk through the Global Change Team and market program team

What Team will I be a part of?

You will be joining an exciting matrixed team made up of the UKI Transformation Team and the Global Change Team. By joining these teams, you’ll play an integral role in helping to shape McDonald’s future for corporate employees.

Who are my customers?

Your key customers will be the HR business who will be a key stakeholder group within this Transformative program. In addition, this role will work cross-functionally to help identify change impacts and deliver training to all corporate employees. We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude who is excited to roll-up their sleeves and help drive change!

  • Hybrid Model – This role is hybrid and we work 3 days per week in the East Finchley office and 2 days remotely.
