Job Description

Workato is seeking a Marketing Communications Manager for Japan to lead the planning, execution, and optimization of marketing communications. This role focuses on building brand awareness, thought leadership, and lead generation, working closely with APJ and global marketing teams, sales, and partners. The manager will be responsible for developing strategies, localizing assets, managing communication channels, and executing events to drive business growth in the Japanese market.

  • Plan and execute online and offline event contents.
  • Collaborate with sales and partners to align marketing activities.
  • Analyze branding and campaign performance for ROI improvement.
  • Manage external agencies and vendors.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing communications, preferably in B2B SaaS or technology.
  • Proven track record of successful communications output in Japanese.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese communications channels, media landscape, and customer behavior.
  • Experience with digital marketing channels, content creation, and analytics tools (Figma, Canva, Sprout).
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English required.

Responsibilities

As the Marketing Communications Manager for Japan, you will drive the planning, execution, and optimization of marketing communications to build brand awareness, create thought leadership, generate leads, and support business growth. You will work closely with APJ and global marketing teams, sales, and partners to deliver impactful campaigns tailored to the Japanese market.

In this role, you will also be responsible to:

  • Develop and execute marketing communications strategies for Japan, including messaging development, branding campaign, customer stories, contents transcreation, content marketing, media messaging, press releases, public relations, media relations, analyst relations, social media, web contents , and corporate messaging.
  • Localize global marketing assets and messaging to ensure cultural and market relevance.
  • Manage communication channels (PR, Media, Analyst, web, social, corporate materials) and optimize for engagement and conversion.
  • Plan and execute online and offline event contents (webinars, tradeshows, partner events) to drive thought leadership, awareness and brand engagement..
  • Collaborate with sales and partners to align marketing activities with business goals.
  • Analyze branding and campaign performance and provide actionable insights to improve ROI.
  • Manage external agencies and vendors as needed.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications and touchpoints.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing communications, preferably in B2B SaaS or technology.
  • Proven track record of running successful communications output in Japanese.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese communications channels, communication programs, media landscape, and customer behavior.
  • Experience with digital marketing channels, content creation tools, and analytics tools (e.g., figma, canva,sprout, ).
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English required.

Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics

  • Experience working in a global or regional marketing team.
