Job Summary
Publicis Sport, a division of Publicis Media, is seeking a Director to lead client relationships, team oversight, and liaise with sports properties and media partnerships. This role involves both account management and new business development, focusing on strategic recommendations and execution of sports marketing partnerships. The Director will analyze client objectives, develop high-value marketing strategies, and drive integrated campaigns across various channels.
Must Have
- Oversee project management around execution of client sports marketing partnerships.
- Analyze and understand client business strategies and objectives.
- Write and deliver sports media and marketing strategies.
- Craft strategic recommendations for sponsorship campaigns.
- Provide clients with end to end strategic thought leadership across the full sports marketing landscape.
- Support client on overall sponsorship strategy.
- Build, maintain and grow client relationships and client business.
- Build, maintain and grow relationships with rights holders and media owners and internal agency counterparts.
- Partner with internal agency groups and spearhead the collaboration, planning, and development of all client programming.
- Drive cross functional project management to support integrated marketing campaigns.
- Command a comprehensive understanding of marketing communications.
- Motivate and oversee a team in the creation, development and execution of strategies, solutions, tactics and programs.
- Facilitate team building through collaborative management style, open communication and focused project management.
- Maintain superior knowledge of the dynamic marketplace/client needs.
- Demonstrate problem solving and intervention when necessary.
- Play active role in major agency new business pitches.
- Develop POV’s and whitepapers on sports industry developments.
- Oversight and management of direct reports, while also supporting career development.
- Minimum 10+ years Sports Marketing experience.
- Core competencies include: Sports media knowledge, sports marketing strategy, sport media relationships and media buying/planning experience.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and deliver on ideas and activation plans rooted in client business strategies and objectives.
- Possess significant marketing partnership/sponsorship experience, ideally within an agency setting.
- Excellent Project Management skills.
- Strong presentation development (PowerPoint) and Excel skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident and comfortable presenting to senior clients and partners.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Must be a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proven ability to lead and interact with people at all levels of an organization.
- Existing relationships with sport properties and media members.

Overview
Publicis Sport, the sports marketing division within Publicis Media, is searching for a Director in New York, NY or Chicago, IL This position requires a highly motivated and entrepreneurial-minded person to lead the oversight of the team, and management of client relationships as well as liaise with sports properties and media partnerships. The role includes both account management, as well as prospecting new business and new lines of business opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee project management around execution of client sports marketing partnerships across property and media channels
- Analyze and understand client business strategies and objectives, and utilize that understanding to identify, develop and deliver high-value marketing recommendations and executions
- Write and deliver sports media and marketing strategies and oversee the translation of these strategies into final recommendations and implementation plans
- Craft strategic recommendations for the sponsorship campaign that are relevant, rooted in fan passions and aligned with both brand initiatives and the client target audience
- Provide clients with end to end strategic thought leadership across the full sports marketing landscape
- Support client on overall sponsorship strategy
- Build, maintain and grow client relationships and client business
- Build, maintain and grow relationships with rights holders and media owners and internal agency counterparts
- Partner with internal agency groups and spearhead the collaboration, planning, and development of all client programming to support partnerships
- Drive cross functional project management to support integrated marketing campaigns and ways of working
- Command a comprehensive understanding of marketing communications which can be effectively translated into developing marketing goals, objectives, and strategies

- Other related duties/projects as reasonably assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years Sports Marketing experience
- Core competencies include:, Sports media knowledge, sports marketing strategy, sport media relationships and media buying/planning experience
- Demonstrated ability to understand and deliver on ideas and activation plans rooted in client business strategies and objectives
- Possess significant (industry, property) marketing partnership/sponsorship experience, ideally within an agency setting and excel at handling expectations with multiple partners
- Excellent Project Management skills, managing across several workstreams to connect all of the dots
- Strong presentation development (PowerPoint) and Excel skills a must
- Strong written and verbal communication skills a must
- Confident and comfortable presenting to senior clients and partners
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically
- Must be a self-starter who works well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proven ability to lead and interact with people at all levels of an organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and results
- Existing relationships with sport properties and media members

Compensation Range: $119,510- $188,025 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
