Must have:
  • Describe steering torque as an input variable depending on output variables using an intelligent model.
  • Thoroughly analyze real driving data and simulation results.
  • Identify suitable model approaches from the state of research.
  • Design, implement, and optimize an AI model in MATLAB/Simulink or Python.
  • Test and evaluate the model.
  • Document results and present them to the team.
  • Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences or comparable.
  • Programming skills in MATLAB or Python.
  • Excellent knowledge in machine learning and neural networks.
  • Motivated, good problem-solving skills, structured and independent work.
  • Good German and English language skills.
  • Enrollment at a university.
Good to have:
  • Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics advantageous

Job Description

In the central research department of Robert Bosch GmbH, you will be part of the team working on tomorrow's motorcycle safety systems. Our common goal is to reduce the risk of accidents for motorcyclists while maintaining high riding comfort and enjoyment. The use of driver assistance systems has the potential to further increase safety and comfort when riding a motorcycle.

Among other challenges, these systems need to describe the complex driving dynamics of a motorcycle. The inversion of the lateral system behavior is currently the focus of investigations.

  • The goal of your Master's thesis is to describe the steering torque as an input variable depending on the output variables using an intelligent model.
  • You will thoroughly analyze real driving data and simulation results.
  • Furthermore, you will identify suitable model approaches from the state of research.
  • You will design, implement, and optimize an AI model in MATLAB/Simulink or Python.
  • Furthermore, you will test and evaluate the model.
  • Finally, you will document your results and present them to the team.

Qualifications

  • Education: Studies in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences or comparable with good academic performance
  • Experience and Know-how: Programming skills in MATLAB or Python; excellent knowledge in the field of machine learning and neural networks; basic understanding of vehicle dynamics advantageous
  • Personality and Working Style: You are a motivated person with good problem-solving skills, who works in a structured and independent manner
  • Languages: good German and English

Duration: 6 months
