Must Have:
  • 5+ years’ experience in credit risk management, preferably with M&A or corporate finance exposure.
  • Expertise in continuous improvement, due diligence, financial planning and analysis (FP&PA).
  • Strong capabilities in accounting, risk assessments, and cash flow management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with strong Excel skills (v-lookup, x-lookup).
  • Understanding of credit instruments (e.g., letters of credit, guarantees).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Strong communicator (persuasive and assertive), proactive in problem solving and coordinating competing priorities.
  • Financial acumen, ability to interpret and analyze complex data, ensure compliance, finance modeling, risk scoring.

Job Description

The Mergers & Acquisitions Credit Risk Specialist plays a critical role in supporting strategic transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. This role is responsible for assessing and managing credit risk exposures associated with M&A activity, ensuring financial due diligence, and supporting post-merger integration from a credit risk perspective. The position requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of credit instruments and financial risk management.

Your role:

  • Conduct thorough credit risk assessments during the due diligence phase of M&A transactions, including analysis of financial statements, debt structures, and creditworthiness of target entities. You will collaborate with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Finance teams to ensure smooth post-merger integration, including alignment of credit policies, systems, and reporting standards.
  • Evaluate the impact of M&A activity on existing credit portfolios, including changes to payer accounts, master data, credit lines, and receivables. Additionally, you will support the development and implementation of credit risk policies and controls related to M&A, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the credit risk team and other departments (e.g., Collections, Legal, Treasury) to ensure alignment of risk mitigation strategies and transaction execution. You will prepare and present risk assessments, integration plans, and post-deal performance reports to senior leadership and credit committees.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 5+ years’ experience in credit risk management, preferably with exposure to M&A or corporate finance.
  • Your skills include expertise in continuous improvement, due diligence, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A), with strong capabilities in accounting, risk assessments, and cash flow management, supported by proficiency in data analysis, and reporting. Strong excel skills (i.e., v-lookup, x-lookup, etc), is a must. Understanding of credit instruments (e.g., letters of credit, guarantees).
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You’re a strong communicator (persuasive and assertive), proactive in problem solving and coordinating competing priorities. Your financial acumen is complemented by your ability to interpret and analyze complex data, ensure compliance, finance modeling, risk scoring, ability to drive decision-making with preference for experience with SAP FSCM, regulatory frameworks, and audit controls.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Nashville, TN is $61,000 to $97,000.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives, may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Nashville, TN.
