Job Description

As a Methods and Work Instructions Specialist, you will define and create manufacturing files, ensuring health and safety regulations are followed. This role involves defining best practices for manufacturing BOM configuration, developing and optimizing work instructions, and implementing improvement projects. You will collaborate with various teams, define assembly sequences, create visual work instructions, train team members, review workflows, support production startups, and maintain up-to-date manufacturing files. You will contribute to the Industry 4.0 shift in manufacturing processes and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in industrial work methods.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings.
  • Ability to manipulate 3D models.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • French required.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of PLM, MPMlink and Créoview (an asset).
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing environment and its challenges.
  • Leadership and team spirit.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.

Job Details

About This Role As a methods and work instructions specialist, you will use your methods skills to define and create the manufacturing file (assembly sequences, manufacturing BOM, visual work instructions), ensuring that health & safety rules are respected and risks eliminated. The role we are offering you:
  • Define best practices for manufacturing BOM configuration tools
  • Develop best practices for creating and optimizing work instructions
  • Implement manufacturing file improvement projects.
  • Be proactive and contribute to the Industry 4.0 shift in our manufacturing processes. 
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement based on problem-solving techniques as well as Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean, Design Thinking and Agile concepts.
  • Work in collaboration with various teams: engineering, production, project management and IT.
  • Define the optimum assembly sequence in compliance with health and safety regulations and technical constraints.
  • Create workflows in line with the assembly sequence.
  • Create visual work instructions appropriate to the production environment. The format may be 3D (Industry 4.0) or 2D, depending on the type of assembly.
  • Train new team members on best practices and standards.
  • Review and propose corrections to workflows created by other team members.
  • Support production start-up of new workflows.
  • Maintain up-to-date manufacturing files (work lists, work instructions)
  • Establish standards for the creation of work lists and work instructions.
Our ideal candidate has:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in industrial work methods
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings
  • Ability to manipulate 3D models
  • Knowledge of PLM, MPMlink and Créoview (an asset)
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing environment and its challenges.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Leadership and team spirit.
  • Comfortable working in a distributed environment, in the office and sometimes remotely if required for the position.
  • French required. Bilingualism (French and English) an asset.
