Job Summary

The Mocap Animator will work under the Animation Director to create high-quality animations, ensuring Squeeze's standards of excellence are met. This temporary position, starting in January 2026 for 3 to 4 months, involves working from 3D storyboards and motion capture to achieve ultimate realism. Responsibilities include respecting artistic vision and executing corrections with an analytical approach.

Must Have

  • Create high level animation from 3D storyboard/animatic and reference documents
  • Increase animation quality using motion capture for realism
  • Ensure animation respects artistic style and vision
  • Execute corrections requested by the Animation Director
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in character animation
  • Excellent knowledge of traditional animation techniques and principles of character movement
  • Excellent knowledge of animation in Motion Builder
  • Mastered non-linear animation tools of Motion Builder (Story)

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of visual effects
  • Knowledge of Faceware
  • Knowledge of Maya

Job Description

YOUR ROLE

Under the supervision of the Animation Director, the Mocap Animator will be in charge of creating high quality animations and ensuring that the highest standards of excellence are maintained, which have made Squeeze famous. This is a temporary position starting in January 2026 for a period of 3 to 4 months (those informations are still to be confirmed).

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work from the 3D storyboard/animatic and reference documents to create high level animation;
  • Work from motion capture to increase the quality of the animation in order to achieve the ultimate realism;
  • Ensure that the animation respects the style and artistic vision indicated by the animation director;
  • Execute the corrections requested by the Animation Director in a spirit of analysis.

  • Educational background related to 3D animation and computer-generated illustration;
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in character animation;
  • Excellent knowledge of traditional animation techniques and principles of character movement;
  • Excellent knowledge of animation in Motion Builder;
  • Mastered the non-linear animation tools of Motion Builder (Story);
  • Knowledge of visual effects (an asset);
  • Knowledge of Faceware (an asset);
  • Knowledge of Maya (an asset).
