Job Description

As a Motion Design Art Director, you'll be an integral part of our design studio team, responsible for generating and executing compelling ideas that resonate with clients and audiences across a multitude of creative outputs. You'll show an artistic and innovative eye, have a clear understanding of design principles overall, as well as those specific to motion design. You'll be sensitive to design theory, layout, graphic design and show visual skills beyond keyframes and technical knowledge. As a collaborative team member, you'll work closely with our Creative Directors, Artists and Producers to bring our Client's initial scripts and ideas to life. You'll bring to the table a balanced and diverse portfolio of work that demonstrates different techniques of motion design and animation, that is inspired by and kept up to date with current design trends and technology.

Qualifications

 

•     Proficient in Cinema 4D and comfortable creating, designing and animating within 3D workflows.
•     Working - advanced knowledge of After Effects and the Adobe Creative Suite as well as experience   

       using Arnold renderer.
•     Working knowledge of Houdini is a plus.
•      Have a keen eye for detail and rigorous quality control.
•      Adept at creating styleframes and imagery for treatments, making relevant, effective suggestions to 

        help steer the creative.
•      Show conceptual thinking, ideas, and the desire to be part of the creative process.
•      An idea driven designer, who draws from a wide range of disciplines and inspirational sources,  

       staying up to date with current design trends and technology.
•      Contribute your knowledge and expertise towards the quoting and planning of projects.
•      Be a creative powerhouse across 2D, 3D, design, animation, story-telling and generally awesome ideas.

       A base of strong graphic design principles – typography, color theory, layout, and composition.

  • Proven track record of leading teams, concepting work, pitching projects, client facing with confidence and working closely with senior heads of department within The Mill, again with confidence.
  • Lead jobs on the visual front, ensuring we are creating the best possible creative output, working with the CD’s to deliver visually captivating work.
  • Have the ability to concept, design, deck build and create all manner of work, from cinematic style frames to abstract 3D motion ideas to making the best out of a brief, it is essential to push for better visual results every time. Nurture and mentor junior members of the team with design practice and methodology. From layout to color theory, form, function, timing, concept, audio, edit and more – this is an involved and complete role of design direction.

  • Initiative, quick thinking, work well with others, share and excite others with your ideas, bring out the best of junior members of the team.
  • A doer as well as a thinker, proactive problem solver, lead by example and be on the hunt for new and creative ways of producing new work.
  • You will have at least 7 plus years' experience in a similar position at a Design or Branding agency and will have a diverse portfolio to match.
  • Specialization in Graphics designing and/or multi-media course from a reputed institute
  • Fluency in English and Korean is required

Responsibilities

  • Motion Design Art Direct projects for both internal and external clients, managing each project from conceptualization through to final product.
  • Generate inspirational, conceptual and creative ideas through and within the Design team. 
  • Mentor a productive and award-winning creative team, constantly improving and refining creative output.
  • Manage creative projects including the conceptualization and origination of design briefs and execution of the work across all disciplines. 
  • Ensure final creative is consistent with client strategy and brand guidelines.
  • Work with creative leads and production teams to win work from prospective clients.
  • Work with the HOD, CD and Design Directors to provide & develop design solutions.
  • Lead the art direction of visual content for Design, 2D and 3D projects.
  • Manage artists on both production and creative, ensuring highly creative output and quality control from conception through to delivery to meet creative, budget and deadline expectations.
  • Advise and work with the creative teams in developing ideas, strategy and pitch collateral for all Design projects.
  • Present concepts and design ideas to clients and make recommendations where appropriate.
  • Attend local awards and client events to build relations and create new leads for potential projects and business.
  • Work closely with CD, Design Directors and Designers to research, develop and implement new technology and creative ideas.
  • Guide, teach and mentor Artists in the Design department in developing ideas further.
  • Brief other members of the creative team and lead successful creative sessions for projects.
  • Create, design and animate where necessary, in collaboration with others. 
  • Weekly meetings with CD and Producer.

 This role will be work from office in Seoul, hence we cannot accept any         applicants outside South Korea.
