Who we are

At Fortis Games we aspire to make great games that bring people together while redefining how game companies work. We believe in building a sense of belonging through our games, their communities, and how we operate and treat each other. Through our game communities, we will create powerful connections and lasting memories. We will foster a culture of diversity, equity and belonging where together our diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds impact the games we make.

We are an early but mighty organization with a leadership team of game industry veterans. There are many opportunities for you to have a big impact on the products we'll be making as well as the overall direction of the company. If you're passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and team first mentality, we may be the right place for you.

About the role

As the Director of Product for Game Tools in the Games Platform group, you will lead the creation and enhancement of essential tools that empower our internal game teams to manage their live operations, drive monetization strategies, and foster player engagement and communication. In addition to LiveOps tools, you and your team will be responsible for developing and maintaining critical products like the Fortis login system and associated experiences, along with other key systems that support operational teams in ensuring player safety and consent management.

What you’ll achieve

  • You will build strong relationships with our internal game teams, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and producers to understand their game content workflows. Together, you will create tools that elevate game operations across all of our titles, ensuring efficiency and top-tier performance.
  • Through these partnerships, plus drawing on your own experience working on other games, and through market research, you will define our game tools strategy, setting clear requirements and a roadmap for success. You will then lead the execution of all platform capabilities in this area.
  • In addition, you’ll work closely with Fortis' legal and compliance teams to shape safe and privacy-conscious gaming experiences. When needed, you’ll take the lead in building these solutions directly into our games, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • As a leader, you’ll mentor and inspire a team of product managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. You’ll coach each individual, helping them develop personalized growth plans to advance their careers.
  • You’ll also collaborate with other Games Platform leaders to co-create our overall platform strategy, aligning on major platform initiatives and reporting progress to the company’s executive team in relation to our business objectives.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Games industry experience is essential. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working on successful free-to-play (F2P) mobile games and has been actively involved in, or led, game LiveOps efforts.
  • Passionate about internal platforms. You understand the critical role internal tools play in enabling player-facing features, and your enthusiasm for building these systems drives both you and your team to excel.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration. You thrive when working with engineering, quality, data, compliance, and other teams throughout the product development process, ensuring timely, high-quality releases on a regular basis.
  • Proven product development leadership. You have a track record of successfully overseeing new product development, guiding projects from ideation through launch, and managing ongoing performance and reporting.
  • Strategic thinker. You can anticipate future trends and consequences, incorporating them into both short-term actions and long-term strategic planning.
  • Excellent communicator. You have experience interacting with and presenting to executive stakeholders, building strong relationships, and driving alignment.
  • Entrepreneurial and analytical. You thrive in fast-paced environments, combining agility with strong problem-solving skills to analyze complex issues, stay organized, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Lifelong learner and industry expert. We expect our leaders to continuously stay informed and engaged with the latest trends in the gaming, business, and technology spaces. You should be well-educated on emerging developments and bring a strong perspective on how these innovations can impact and shape our current and future projects.
