Job Description

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Network Administration professional with expertise in routing and switching. This role involves configuring, managing, and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, etc.). The responsibilities include monitoring network performance, implementing and maintaining routing protocols, managing VLANs and other Layer 2 technologies, performing regular network maintenance and upgrades, collaborating with IT teams to design and implement network solutions, maintaining network documentation, and responding to network incidents. The ideal candidate will ensure network security through access controls, firewalls, and VPNs, along with conducting network capacity planning and performance tuning.
Must have:
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability.
  • Implement and maintain routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Manage VLANs, STP, trunking, and other Layer 2 technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, NAT, and DHCP.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
Good to have:
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Job Description

  • Manage VLANs, STP, trunking, and other Layer 2 technologies.
  • Perform regular network maintenance and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement network solutions.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Respond to and resolve network incidents and service requests.
  • Ensure network security through access controls, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Conduct network capacity planning and performance tuning.

Primary Skills

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, NAT, and DHCP.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
  • Certifications such as CCNACCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
