KVEO NBC 23 is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Producer to lead the production of our 4PM News Now newscast, which is fully operated using OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) and simulcast on KVEO (NBC) and our CTV app, ValleyCentral+. This role requires creativity, technical proficiency, and strong editorial judgment to deliver engaging, accurate, and visually compelling news content across multiple platforms.
Must Have
- Plan, write, and produce daily 4PM newscast
- Operate and manage OBS-based production workflows
- Coordinate with broadcast and digital teams
- Curate and organize video, graphics, and live elements
- Monitor breaking news and adjust rundowns
- Ensure compliance with FCC regulations and station policies
- Troubleshoot OBS and streaming technical issues
- Maintain understanding of audience trends and innovative storytelling
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- 1-2 years of producing experience in news
- Proficiency in OBS and live streaming workflows
- Strong editorial judgment and quick decision-making
- Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, write, and produce the daily 4PM newscast, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and audience engagement.
- Operate and manage OBS-based production workflows, including scene switching, graphics integration, and live streaming.
- Coordinate with anchors, reporters, photographers, and digital teams to ensure seamless execution of the broadcast.
- Curate and organize video, graphics, and live elements for both linear TV and digital streaming platforms.
- Monitor breaking news and adjust rundowns in real time to maintain relevance and immediacy.
- Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, station policies, and brand standards.
- Collaborate with the digital team to optimize content for ValleyCentral+, ValleyCentral.com, and social media platforms.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to OBS and streaming during live broadcasts.
- Maintain a strong understanding of audience trends and incorporate innovative storytelling techniques.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 1-2 years of producing experience in a broadcast or digital news environment.
- Proficiency in OBS and familiarity with live streaming workflows.
- Strong editorial judgment and ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
