Job Summary
NewsNation is seeking a part-time Associate Director and Stage Manager. This dual role involves keeping time, trafficking rundowns, cueing video, and serving as the main contact for Master Control as an Associate Director. As a Stage Manager, the candidate will liaison between the control room, on-air talent, and stage crew, ensuring a professional studio environment and smooth broadcast operations.
Must Have
- Assist the Director with timing, graphics, and coordinating feeds
- Traffic video and graphic elements in rundowns and cue video
- Coordinate with Master Control on break times
- Work closely with Line Producers on show and segment timing
- Maintain a professional environment on the studio floor
- Cue talent and relay pertinent information to studio staff
- Stay aware of constant changes within the show’s broadcast
- Lead the studio production crew while keeping on-air talent at ease
- Determine needs of upcoming segments, identifying production elements
- Prior control room and studio experience at broadcast networks
- Working knowledge of ENPS
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- DGA position, union membership required

Job Description
NewsNation is looking for a part-time Associate Director and Stage Manager. This candidate will be expected to perform both roles throughout the shift. As an Associate Director, you will keep time, traffic rundowns, cue video, and be the main point of contact for Master Control. As a Stage Manager, you will act as the primary liaison between the control room, on-air talent, and stage crew.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Director’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Director during live and pretaped productions with timing elements, graphics, and coordinating feeds
- Traffic video and graphic elements in rundowns and cue video via Bit Central playout
- Coordinate with Master Control by confirming break times, if breaks are killed for Breaking News
- Work closely with Line Producers on show and segment timing
- Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership
The Stage Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain a professional environment on the studio floor
- Cue talent and relay pertinent information to the studio staff
- Stay aware of constant changes within the show’s broadcast
- Lead the studio production crew while keeping the on-air talent at ease
- Determine needs of upcoming segments, identifying production elements including props and set elements in coordination with Directors and Stagehands
- Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership
Qualifications:
- Prior control room and studio experience at broadcast networks.
- Have a working knowledge of ENPS.
- Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and being able to multitask in a fast- paced environment are a must.
- Weekends, early mornings, evenings and holidays may be a part of the schedule with overtime as situations demand
This is a DGA position and union membership is required.
Salary range is based on experience: $65-$81 an hour
