Job Summary
NewsNation is seeking a creative, experienced, and proactive part-time Stagehand to join their team in New York. The role involves working with the current team to create, establish, and maintain all stage and lighting needs. Responsibilities include operating lighting consoles, moving and installing sets and props, functioning as a scenic carpenter, and performing rigging. Candidates must have 5-7 years of experience in a major market television station and a strong knowledge of television lighting.
Must Have
- Operate entertainment lighting consoles/switchboards, spotlights, and other lighting equipment
- Call up cues for daily shows and special projects, including lighting installation and focusing
- Move, install, place, handle, and maintain all sets, scenery, and props
- Function as scenic carpenters and perform rigging functions
- 5-7 years of experience in a major market television station
- Meet required standards for stagehand as designated by The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees
- Strong working knowledge of television lighting, especially Electronic Theater Controls, EOS and Ion consoles
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be a member in good standing of I.A.T.S.E.

Job Description
NewsNation is currently seeking a creative, experienced and pro-active part-time Stagehand to join our team at its studios in New York. As a Stagehand you will work with our current team of Stagehands to create, establish and maintain all NewsNation stage and lighting needs.
Responsibilities:
The Stagehand will perform, at a minimum, the following duties:
- Operate entertainment lighting consoles/switchboards, spotlights, and other lighting equipment (except lights and equipment as may be attached to the camera).
- Call up cues to be used during daily shows, as well as any special projects, including the installation and focusing such lighting to attain the desired effect.
- Move, install, place, handle and maintain all sets, scenery and props.
- Function as scenic carpenters. Specialists may also perform rigging functions
- Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years in a major market television station.
- Meet the required standards for stagehand as designated by The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.
- A strong working knowledge of television lighting, especially Electronic Theater Controls, EOS and Ion consoles.
- Excellent communication skills a must.
- Applicants must be a member in good standing of I.A.T.S.E.
Salary Range:
(per experience) $41.00 - $55.00 Hourly
