Join Autodesk as an Observability Engineer, leading the architecture, scale, and evolution of our global observability platform engineering team. This role involves driving technical strategy, platform innovation, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance telemetry across the engineering organization. Key responsibilities include managing Splunk for centralized logging, ensuring system health, performance, and uptime, and optimizing log formats to provide operational insights.
Must have:
  • Manage Splunk for centralized logging
  • Ensure system health, performance, and uptime
  • Onboard log sources from applications, cloud services, and network devices into Splunk
  • Optimize log formats and develop field extractions
  • Build and maintain Splunk dashboards, alerts, reports, and knowledge objects
  • Write and refine SPL queries for troubleshooting and operational insight
  • Maintain Splunk indexes for optimal storage and performance
  • Troubleshoot issues across the logging pipeline
  • Monitor AWS logging infrastructure
  • Participate in logging platform on-call rotation
  • Document configurations and SOPs
  • Bachelor’s in CS, Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years in Observability with a logging focus
  • Strong command and basic scripting skills
  • Familiarity with AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch)
Good to have:
  • Splunk Certified Power User
  • Hands-on experience with Cribl or any other log pipeline
  • Familiarity with IaC (Terraform Or CloudFormation Or Ansible)
  • Exposure to logging approach in Docker/Kubernetes
  • Solid grasp of networking/security in log management (SIEM, PII Masking)

Position Overview

Join Autodesk as a Observability Engineer driving the architecture, scale, and evolution of our global observability platform engineering team. You will lead technical strategy, platform innovation, and cross-functional collaboration to elevate telemetry across the engineering org.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Splunk for centralized logging; ensure system health, performance, and uptime
  • Onboard log sources from applications, cloud services, and network devices into Splunk
  • Optimize log formats and develop field extractions in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Build and maintain Splunk dashboards, alerts, reports, and knowledge objects
  • Write and refine SPL queries for troubleshooting and operational insight
  • Maintain Splunk indexes for optimal storage and performance
  • Troubleshoot issues across the logging pipeline
  • Monitor AWS logging infrastructure; contribute to capacity planning
  • Participate in logging platform on-call rotation
  • Document configurations and SOPs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in CS, Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years in Observability with a logging focus
  • Strong command and basic scripting skills
  • Familiar with AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Splunk Certified Power User
  • Hands on experience with Cribl or any other log pipeline will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with IaC (Terraform Or CloudFormation Or Ansible)
