Job Summary

Sloclap is looking for an Online Programmer to join the development team for their new multiplayer game, Rematch. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend architecture, improving system robustness and scalability, and collaborating with gameplay and design teams to ensure a fluid multiplayer experience. The ideal candidate will have strong backend language skills (Go preferred), cloud environment experience (AWS preferred), and a passion for complex problem-solving.

Must Have

  • Proficiency in a backend language (Go, or equivalent)
  • Experience with a cloud environment (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
  • A taste for complex problem-solving and a desire to learn
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

Good to Have

  • Good knowledge of C++
  • Experience in video games
  • Experience in a similar position or on a game in production
  • Knowledge of the Unreal Engine
  • A strong interest in network, performance, and distributed systems issues

Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

As part of the development of Rematch, our latest multiplayer game, we are looking for an Online Programmer to join the development team.

Whatever your level of experience, what matters most to us is your ability to design robust systems, your technical curiosity, and your desire to contribute to an ambitious game.

Within the team, you will be involved in both backend services and their in-game integration, in close collaboration with the gameplay and design teams.

YOUR MISSIONS

  • Participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the backend architecture (server provisioning, matchmaking, game systems, analytics, etc.)
  • Improve the robustness, performance, and scalability of existing systems
  • Work in synergy with the gameplay and design teams to ensure a fluid and consistent multiplayer experience

PROFILE SOUGHT

We are primarily looking for motivated, curious, and committed individuals. The following skills are important to succeed in this position:

  • Proficiency in a backend language (we primarily work in Go, but good experience with an equivalent language is perfectly acceptable)
  • Experience with a cloud environment (we use AWS, but experience with Google Cloud or Azure is also relevant)
  • A taste for complex problem-solving and a desire to learn

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Position available on a permanent contract (CDI) as soon as possible.

Compensation takes into account the SNJV barometer and our internal salary grids.
