Job Summary

Sloclap, an independent game studio founded in Paris in 2015, is seeking a Senior Technical Animator. The role involves pushing the impact of animation in future projects, working within a 15-person team. The primary objective is to bring characters to life procedurally or assist animators in maximizing character dressing potential, while cleverly and efficiently meeting strong animation direction and technical constraints to create fun, engaging, and innovative game experiences at a lower cost.

Must Have

  • Develop and maintain real-time procedural animation and deformation systems
  • Understand Unreal Animation Blueprints and animation systems
  • Optimize real-time animation system performance and stability
  • Design, collaborate, and prototype ideas through simple systems (proof of concept)
  • Ability to work in a team, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving skills and contribution to Unreal Engine/Maya tools, processes, and pipeline improvement
  • Critical thinking and humility, accepting and giving feedback, bringing new and innovative ideas and approaches

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of constraints related to gameplay animation
  • Appetite and sensitivity to character animation
  • Knowledge of Maya, especially rigging and animation
  • Good communication skills, ability to take notes and follow instructions
  • Experience in prototyping and rapid iteration environments

Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

As part of the creation of our future projects, we are currently looking for a Senior Technical Animator to help us continue to push the impact of animation in our creations.

The team you will be working with is made up of 15 people of all seniority levels. We attach great importance to team spirit and mutual aid.

As a technical animator, your objective will be to:

  • bring characters to life procedurally or help animators exploit the full potential of character dressing
  • meet the constraints of a strong animation direction and technical constraints in a clever and efficient manner, with the aim of creating fun, engaging and innovative game experiences at a lower cost.

SOUGHT PROFILE

We are looking for a profile combining technical rigor and artistic sensitivity, with a keen eye for the quality, coherence and expressiveness of animation with the following skills:

  • Develop and maintain real-time procedural deformation and animation systems.
  • Understand Unreal Animation Blueprints and animation systems.
  • Optimize the performance and stability of real-time animation systems.
  • Design, collaborate and prototype ideas through simple systems (proof of concept).
  • Ability to work in a team, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and contribution to the improvement of Unreal Engine/Maya tools, processes and pipeline.

Position to be filled on a permanent contract (CDI) as soon as possible.

Remuneration takes into account the SNJV barometer and our internal salary grids.
