Job Summary

The Industrial/BPS Engineer will drive strategy implementation by generating ideas for lean manufacturing, conducting root-cause analysis, and assessing BPS element implementation. The role involves employee engagement to identify inefficiencies, supporting improvement projects with BPS tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include industrial engineering tasks like estimating standard times (MTM, Time Study), maintaining SAP data, identifying improvement areas (ABC analysis, Bottleneck study, OEE trends), and leading VT/Tg ratio optimization. The engineer will also assess ergonomic compliance, define and sustain MJV standards, develop BPS/IE competency through training, and conduct various IE and BPS assessments.

Must Have

  • Create ideas to determine flexibility of utilizing lean manufacturing by kaizen and conduct root-cause analysis.
  • Analyse existing systems and processes to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Assess and ensure implementation of BPS elements in alignment with Plant BPS vision.
  • Contribute through motivating employees to identify gaps to prevent waste and inefficiency.
  • Provide support for improvement projects by facilitating BPS tools.
  • Estimate, develop and determine Standard time (MTM, Time Study).
  • Maintain SAP data (Routing, CAPP, ROS).
  • Identify improvement areas (ABC analysis, Bottleneck study, LLD, OEE trends, VT/TG trends).
  • Lead/support VT/Tg ratio optimization projects.
  • Assess, review, monitor and communicate ergonomic compliance of workstations.
  • Define, implement, and sustain MJV standards across the plant.
  • Develop BPS/IE competency by imparting training.
  • Conduct different IE and BPS assessment in plant.
  • B.Tech./B.E. (Industrial Engineering/Mechanical/Automobile) education.
  • 3 to 4 years experience in Industrial Engineering / Process Planning / Manufacturing / Lean Principles.

Job Description

Strategy Implementation-

Create ideas to determine flexibility of utilizing lean manufacturing by kaizen and conduct root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions and improvements

Analyse existing systems and processes to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities for manufacturing excellence Assess and ensure implementation of BPS elements in alignment with Plant BPS vision

Employee Engagement & Improvement Initiatives-

Contribute through motivating employees to identify gaps to prevent waste and inefficiency in production along with benchmarking the best practices to achieve manufacturing excellence

Provide support for improvement projects by facilitating BPS tools, communicate results in line with BPS standards and collaborate with cross functional teams to improve BPS maturity in the value stream

Industrial Engineering -

Estimate, develop and determine Standard time (MTM, Time Study) , Maintain SAP data (Routing, CAPP, ROS), Identify improvement areas (ABC analysis, Bottleneck study, LLD,OEE trends, VT/TG trends) & lead/support VT/Tg ratio optimization projects to ensure implementation of IE & BPS standards

Ergonomics -

Assess, review, monitor and communicate ergonomic compliance of workstations to stakeholders. Ensure closure of observations during ergo checks to ensure safer, healthier and productive work places.

Labour Transformation -

Define, implement, and sustain MJV standards across the plant, train and supervise assessors, communicate standards, and create/update/present MIS using MS Power BI, including standards for individual assessment.

Competence Development -

Develop BPS/IE  competency by imparting training, schedule networking events to benchmark on lean manufacturing practices

Assessments  -

Enable cross functional teams to address the operational issues and achieve BPS objectives also conduct different IE and BPS assessment in plant

Qualifications

Education -

  • B.Tech./B.E. (Industrial Engineering/Mechanical/Automobile)

Experience -

  • 3 to 4 years in Industrial Engineering / Process Planning / Manufacturing / Lean Principles
