Job Summary
This PhD internship focuses on Machine Learning and Radar Sensing. Radar is a core perception technology in advanced driver assisted systems (ADAS) and future wireless communications infrastructure. Developments in higher millimeter-wave bands and digital processing open new opportunities for signal processing and ML. The candidate will develop novel ML algorithms, waveforms, and beamforming techniques for digital radar systems. Candidates should be Master's students with strong backgrounds in signal processing, array processing, communications, algorithms, and experience in automotive radar, ML methods, Matlab/Python programming, and strong English communication skills.
Must Have
- Master’s student in electrical/electronic engineering, or a relevant field of study.
- Strong background in signal processing, array processing, communications, and algorithms.
- Experience in automotive radar and ML methods, and an interest in growing your expertise in these areas.
- Experience in Matlab/Python programming.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Job Description
Background
Radar is a core perception technology in advanced driver assisted systems (ADAS) for enhancing safety and convenience. Future radar systems in vehicles will likely move to the higher millimeter-wave bands and incorporate more digital processing. Radar sensing is an upcoming feature in future wireless communications infrastructure as well. These developments open up new opportunities for signal processing and machine learning (ML) for digital radar systems. The candidate will focus on new waveforms, beamforming techniques, and development of novel ML algorithms for radar sensing.
As a candidate for this position, it is expected that you have:
- Master’s student in electrical/electronic engineering, or a relevant field of study.
- Strong background in signal processing, array processing, communications, and algorithms.
- Experience in automotive radar and ML methods, and an interest in growing your expertise in these areas.
- Experience in Matlab/Python programming.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong motivation in working in an R&D environment.
