Job Description

The Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in delivering exceptional on-site technical support for Illumina’s cutting-edge products. This position serves as a key liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring optimal performance and satisfaction through expert service and support.
Must have:
  • Install, upgrade, repair, and maintain instrument systems at key customer site.
  • Troubleshoot and repair system problems.
  • Submit service reports, expense reports, and "Bug" reports in a timely manner.
  • Enter work performed in service database in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate service spares inventory.
  • Revise/review SOPs.
  • Demonstrated ability to align optical systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant field service or technical support experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed (>50%).

The estimated base salary range for the role based in the United States of America is: $73,400 - $110,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
