As an Operations Officer, you will be a key member of the Core Operations and Product Governance team in Saxo Bank Securities, Japan, responsible for handling regulatory and tax reporting. You will also support the stock transfer process, communicating with brokers in Japan and the India-based stock transfer team. This role involves ensuring timely and accurate filing of tax and regulatory reports, staying compliant with regulations, and identifying and communicating new regulations. You will work closely with the Head of Core Operations and Product Governance, contributing to the team environment and delivering quality work. This position offers opportunities for learning and growth within a leading online broker-bank.
Must have:
  • Execute Japan Regulatory and Tax reporting activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify and communicate new regulations and changes to the regulations.
  • Handle the stock transfer IN process and act as a liaison.
  • JSDA Sales Representative Level 1 and 2 certified
Good to have:
  • Experience in financial industry, online brokerage firms or consultancy firm in Japan
  • Experience with Business Processes, Regulatory reporting and/or Tax legislation

Saxo Bank Securities, Japan Operations team is responsible to either directly provide operation support to Saxo Bank Japan Clients or govern the global operation teams based out of India on all Back Office Operations supporting critical functions like Payments, Fund Segregation, Settlements, Corporate Actions, Reconciliation, Stock Transfer, Regulatory & Tax Reporting activities. About the job As an Operations Officer, you will be one of the key members of the Saxo Bank Securities, Japan – Core Operations and Product Governance team, and responsible for handling of the regulatory and tax reporting. In addition, this role will also require the operations officer to directly support stock transfer process which requires handling in bound and out bound communication from brokers in Japan as well as liaising with Stock Transfer team based in India to ensure all the stock transfer IN requests are handled in a timely manner while maintaining the customer experience that contributes in continuously improving our Net Promoter Score. This position provides an option to learn, grow and perform within one of the World’s leading online broker-banks. We are seeking a dynamic and sharp mind to support and drive the processes that cover daily, monthly, semi-annual as well as annual tax and regulatory reporting requirements. This role strictly demands regulatory compliance at all times and ensuring timely and accurate filing of the tax and regulatory reports. You will be holding all necessary skills and certifications such as JSDA Sales Representative Class 1 and 2 that allows you to perform regulatory and tax reporting tasks as a JSDA certified professional in the Japan financial industry. You will be closely working with Head of Core Operations and Product Governance to ensure that any new and upcoming regulatory requirements and changes are tracked and reported to the management in a timely manner and also ensure all such requirements are accommodated to ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting. As a local reporting matrix in the Tokyo office, you will be part of Japan Core Operations and Product Governance department under the COO organization and will be reporting to Head of Core Operations and Product Governance, Japan. Your profile As a person you work in a structured manner and possess superb stakeholder management skills. You will strive in a high-paced, dynamic environment and can manage multiple pressing priorities. You take ownership and pride in delivering quality work on time providing a strong individual performance, however, enjoying and supporting the team environment. You have minimum 4-5 years work experience preferably from the financial industry, online brokerage firms or consultancy firm in Japan – preferably with competences within Business Processes, Regulatory reporting and/or Tax legislation as well as direct experience of working in the back office team. Prior experience of either of below regulatory reporting is highly desired for this role. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • As an Operations officer and one of the key members of Core Operations team, be directly responsible for executing Japan Regulatory and Tax reporting activities accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Closely work with the Head of Core Operations to ensure that any new regulations and changes to the regulations are identified, communicated with the organization and any such reporting requirements are incorporated to ensure Saxo Bank Securities Ltd. remains compliant at all the times.

  • Continuously opt for STP based approach for all the daily, monthly, semi-annual and annual tax and regulatory reporting tasks

  • As an Operations officer, be directly responsible for handling of the stock transfer IN process and act as liaison between brokers in Japan and India stock transfer team while ensuring stock transfers are completed in a timely manner. Provide stock transfer instructions to India stock transfer team in desired format. Respond to broker inquiries for the stock transfer IN requests for the private clients

  • Act as a team player in the Core Operations and Product Governance Department primarily covering Regulatory and Tax Reporting along with Stock Transfer but as needed be able to support existing Payments Processing and Fund Segregation team or act as back up for them, in their absence.

Qualification
  • A Bachelor’s degree is highly desired (Law, Commerce, Engg.)

  • JSDA Sales Representative Level 1, Level 2 certified

  • JSDA internal controls certifications
