Job Description

We are seeking an OSP Engineering Designer with responsibilities including evaluating and resolving conflicts in outside plant (OSP) infrastructure using 3GIS for network accuracy. The role involves supporting Project Managers and fiber engineers with data uploads, identifying fiber capacity issues, and updating route information. Candidates will utilize GIS tools to manage and update network assets, plan efficient layouts, and leverage proficiency in 3GIS, ArcGIS Pro, and Site Tracer for fiber planning and asset management. Collaboration with internal teams for successful project execution and compliance, reviewing GIS maps, conduit data, and layout drawings for planning assistance, and creating, maintaining, and refining fiber network designs within GIS platforms are key duties. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with maintaining thorough documentation of network designs and changes.
Must have:
  • 6+ months of experience in OSP Engineering, network design, or telecommunications.
  • Proficiency in Esri tools (ArcGIS Pro, Site Tracer).
  • Experience with data management and GIS/3GIS tools.
  • Ability to evaluate OSP infrastructure conflicts.
  • Experience developing/updating fiber network designs in 3GIS.
  • Collaborate with teams and maintain documentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Site Tracer for network planning.
  • Maintaining accurate records using GIS/3GIS tools.
  • Recommending practical solutions for conflicts.

Salary: $31- $38/hr (depending on experience)

Most Important:

  • 6+ months of experience in OSP Engineering, network design, or related telecommunications field.

  • Proficiency in Esri tools such as ArcGIS Pro and Site Tracer for network planning and design.

  • Experience with data management and GIS/3GIS tools for maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to evaluate OSP infrastructure conflicts and recommend practical solutions.

  • Demonstrated success developing, updating, and maintaining fiber network designs in platforms like 3GIS.

  • Confident in collaborating with engineering, construction, and field teams to ensure project success while maintaining thorough documentation of design changes.

  • Exceptional written and verbal skills

  • Create, maintain, and refine fiber network designs within GIS platforms such as 3GIS.

  • Apply strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Maintain thorough documentation of network designs and changes in internal systems.
