Senior Software Engineer

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer for an onsite contract-to-hire role in Salt Lake City, UT. The position requires 5+ years of experience with strong backend development using Python/Django, Open edX, xBlocks, and PHP for legacy system support. Key responsibilities include platform support, Open edX upgrades, issue resolution, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure platform stability and maintain clear documentation.

Must have skills:

Responsibilities:

• Platform Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support for the platform, including troubleshooting and resolving system issues, maintaining backlog items, and supporting certificates and program functionality.
• OEX Upgrades: Lead the upgrade of Open edX to new versions, ensuring smooth deployment and minimal disruption.
• Issue Resolution: Diagnose, triage, and resolve technical issues coming from internal teams or platform users.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to prioritize issues, provide solutions, and ensure platform stability.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain clear documentation on system issues, fixes, and processes to support team efficiency and onboarding.
