Job Description

The Planner will be responsible for creating and executing production and distribution plans to meet customer requirements while optimizing inventory. They will develop strategies for safety stock, minimize inventory obsolescence, and allocate products in short supply. The role involves resolving issues impacting plan completion, supporting new product launches, and ensuring data integrity for production and MRP. Additionally, the Planner will monitor supply chain KPIs, perform root cause analysis, and strive for continuous improvement. They will also provide training and support to new personnel and affiliates, creating ad-hoc reports and analysis, and maintain methodologies for ongoing performance analysis.
Must have:

Position Summary: Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle. May be responsible for the following activities: master scheduling, production planning/coordination, shop scheduling and dispatching, material requirements, planning systems, work-in-process tracking, material and labor variance controls, manufacturing performance reporting, and detailed inventory analysis and reporting. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs and other related duties may be assigned. Responsibilities:
  • Create, maintain and execute detailed production and distribution plans to meet customer requirements, optimize inventory and balance plant utilization and capacity
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize safety stock minimize inventory obsolescence
  • Develop and implement allocation strategies for products in short supply
  • Review, resolve and escalate issues that impact plan completion
  • Support new product launches by managing completion of supply chain activities that must occur to ensure initial builds of inventory for launch and sustaining availability
  • Participate in Engineering Change Order review, approval and implementation of material phase-in and phase-out
  • Ensure data integrity of master data elements which drive production and MRP (safety stock, cycle times, BOM accuracy, effectivity dates)
  • Manage timely execution of MRP actions to ensure uninterrupted supply to customer
  • Troubleshoot transactional records to resolve inventory discrepancies and manufacturing variances
  • Build and maintain methodology and tools for ongoing performance analysis
  • Monitor supply chain key performance indicators, publish performance reports, perform root cause analysis, implement action plans, and strive for continuous improvement. (plan vs actual, internal demand, process flow, expiry, shortages, etc)
  • Provide training support for new personnel
  • Provide planning system knowledge support for site and affiliates
  • Create Ad hoc reports/analysis
  • Build and maintain methodology and tools for ongoing performance analysis
Requirements:
  • Experience with multiple product lines in a multi-site manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proficient with MRP, DRP and MPS systems
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to structure and perform data analysis
  • Ability to distill complex issues into simple effective messages for management
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong project management skills
  • Familiar with FDS, GMP, SOX regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

  • APICS certification preferred.

The estimated base salary range for the Planner role based in the United States of America is: $62,200 - $93,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
