As part of the People Support and Care (PS&C) function, the Senior HR Generalist serves as a strategic advisor and coach to business management. This hybrid role, based in San Diego, CA, is pivotal in driving employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and organizational change. The role involves providing high-quality HR advisory services, investigating complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with labor laws, guiding leaders through performance processes, and leading HR projects.

Must Have:
  • Provide high-quality HR advisory services on absence, health, conduct, capability, grievances, and organizational change.
  • Investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues, including harassment and discrimination claims for the US and Canada.
  • Act as an advocate for employees by resolving employee experience issues when possible while balancing business needs.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies and procedures across multiple regions.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Support the development and rollout of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Guide leaders through performance management processes and organizational transitions.
  • Support crisis management and change initiatives with empathy and strategic insight.
  • Ability to deliver difficult feedback and support through conflict resolution.
  • Assist in implementing HR plans and programs in partnership with HRBPs.
  • Facilitate learning and development initiatives and team events.
  • Contribute to HR metrics, data analysis, and reporting to drive proactive decision-making.
  • Lead or support HR-related projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful execution and alignment with business goals.
  • Five years’ experience as an HR Generalist or advisory role, ideally within a global or matrixed organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and navigate complex organizational dynamics.
  • Proficiency in HR systems (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow) and data reporting tools.

Position Summary

This role is pivotal in driving employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and organizational change. The Senior HR Generalist partners closely with HR Business Partners and other HR team members to deliver proactive, inclusive, and scalable HR support that reflects our culture and commitment to inclusivity and belonging.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Provide high-quality HR advisory services on absence, health, conduct, capability, grievances, and organizational change.
  • Investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues, including harassment and discrimination claims for the US and Canada, while supporting other regions as needed.
  • Act as an advocate for employees by resolving employee experience issues when possible while balancing business needs.

Policy & Compliance

  • Interpret and apply HR policies and procedures across multiple regions.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
  • Support the development and rollout of HR programs and initiatives.

Performance & Change Management

  • Guide leaders through performance management processes and organizational transitions.
  • Support crisis management and change initiatives with empathy and strategic insight.
  • Ability to deliver difficult feedback and support through conflict resolution.

HR Program Delivery

  • Assist in implementing HR plans and programs in partnership with HRBPs.

Qualifications

  • Five years’ experience as an HR Generalist or advisory role, ideally within a global or matrixed organization.

The estimated base salary range for the Senior HR Generalist role based in the United States of America is: $88,200 - $132,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
