Job Description

As a Planning and Delivery Leader based in Kobe, Japan, you will join the MRPC-Buy team, ensuring supplier execution and material availability for global Civil Aerospace engine programs. This 1-year contract role involves overseeing manufacturing schedules, resolving delivery issues, managing supplier relationships, ensuring planning compliance, and supporting commercial and logistics interfaces. You will be critical in maintaining robust supply chain planning and delivery management.
Must have:
  • Oversee the launch and manufacturing schedules of all purchased parts across the component lifecycle.
  • Maintain and monitor planning systems daily, including inbound delivery tracking, Stock-in-Transit, GRIP, and NCR stock resolution.
  • Identify deviations from plan, escalate critical delivery issues, and support mitigation and recovery actions.
  • Conduct regular Order Book Reviews with suppliers to evaluate delivery adherence.
  • Proactively manage risks by identifying potential shortages or surpluses and implementing escalation protocols.
  • Support 4-weekly planning cycles with real-time supplier data and customer alignment.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with ERP updates and inventory processes.
  • Assist buyers in resolving invoice mismatches linked to schedule and receipt discrepancies.
  • Provide delivery failure data to buyers for potential commercial claims under SP1 guidelines.
  • Coordinate with in-factory logistics teams to ensure timely receipt and dispatch of parts.
  • Contribute to critical delivery reviews with updated plans and supplier commitments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in planning, procurement, or supply chain roles, ideally within the aerospace, automotive, or high-tech manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems (SAP or equivalent) and supply planning principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while ensuring attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural, and matrix organization.
  • Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese is required.
Good to have:
  • Experience with SAP ERP or similar enterprise planning systems.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials, parts procurement, or supplier development.
  • Project management experience or certification (e.g. PMP, Lean Six Sigma).
  • Exposure to global supply chains and international suppliers.

As a Planning and Delivery Leader, you will be part of the MRPC-Buy team responsible for ensuring supplier execution and material availability across the component lifecycle. Based in our Akashi office (Kobe), this role is critical to supporting our global Civil Aerospace engine programs through robust supply chain planning, supplier engagement, and delivery management. This is a 1-year contract role.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems is headquartered in Friedrichshafen in southern Germany and employs around 9,000 people. The product portfolio includes mtu-brand high-speed engines and propulsion systems for ships, power generation, heavy land, rail and defense vehicles and for the oil and gas industry as well as diesel and gas systems and battery containers for mission critical, standby and continuous power, combined generation of heat and power, and microgrids.

Key Accountabilities

Supplier Delivery Execution

  • Oversee the launch and manufacturing schedules of all purchased parts across the component lifecycle.
  • Maintain and monitor planning systems daily, including inbound delivery tracking, Stock-in-Transit, GRIP, and NCR stock resolution.

Issue Resolution & Escalation

  • Identify deviations from plan, escalate critical delivery issues, and support mitigation and recovery actions using standard tools and processes.
  • Provide delivery visibility to Supply Management Team Meetings (SMTM).

Supplier Management

  • Conduct regular Order Book Reviews with suppliers to evaluate delivery adherence.
  • Proactively manage risks by identifying potential shortages or surpluses and implementing escalation protocols when necessary.

Planning Compliance & ERP Alignment

  • Support 4-weekly planning cycles with real-time supplier data and customer alignment.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with ERP updates and inventory processes (including ZEIAW – Excess Inventory Authorisation).

Commercial Support

  • Assist buyers in resolving invoice mismatches linked to schedule and receipt discrepancies.
  • Provide delivery failure data to buyers for potential commercial claims under SP1 guidelines.

Factory Logistics Interface

  • Coordinate with in-factory logistics teams to ensure timely receipt and dispatch of parts.
  • Contribute to critical delivery reviews with updated plans and supplier commitments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
