Job Description

This role is for a Quality Manager in Rolls-Royce's Civil Aftermarket Operations, based in Derby. The position involves leading the quality of on-wing overhaul activities by the supply chain and supporting engine leasing with regulatory and quality expertise. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a quality strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, establishing KPIs, maintaining Quality Management System processes, leading problem resolution, and identifying and mitigating risks for on and near wing services and engine leasing activities.
Must have:
  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategy for Quality in the provision of on and near wing maintenance services and engine leasing activities.
  • Ensure accurate, regularly updated and meaningful KPIs for the Quality performance of on and near wing and engine leasing activities.
  • Ensure the processes operated in on and near wing services and for engine leasing activities are up to date in the Quality Management System.
  • Establish and lead the standard for problem resolution relating to the provision of on and near wing services and engine leasing activities.
  • Lead the collective identification, sentencing and mitigation of risks associated with on and near wing services and engine leasing activities.

Quality Manager - On-Wing Services

An interesting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join the Quality team in Rolls-Royce’s Civil Aftermarket Operations organisation. Based in Derby, the role embraces two distinct but related tasks – leading on the Quality of on-wing overhaul activities provided by our supply chain and supporting our engine leasing activities with regulatory and quality knowledge. A more detailed description of the role is as follows:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategy for Quality in the provision of our on and near wing maintenance services and engine leasing activities that embraces regulatory compliance, industry best practice and delivers high level of Customer Satisfaction.
  • Ensure there are accurate, regularly updated and meaningful KPIs (including supplier scorecards and supplier maturity assessments) for the Quality performance of our on and near wing and engine leasing activities and that they are reviewed in an appropriately attended governance structure which captures recovery actions when necessary.
  • Ensure the processes we operate to in on and near wing services and for our engine leasing activities are up to date in our Quality Management System and reflect legal and regulatory limits and best practices so that Right First Time performance can be achieved.
  • Establish and lead the standard for problem resolution relating to our provision of on and near wing services and engine leasing activities, coaching our suppliers and internal teams in these expectations.
  • Lead the collective identification, sentencing and mitigation of risks associated with our on and near wing services and engine leasing activities.

The skills and competencies we will be looking for in this role are:

  • EASA and UKCAA Part 145 regulatory knowledge is required and Part CAMO knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead problem investigations to successful conclusions.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and implement a successful Quality strategy blending regulatory obligations and their pragmatic achievement.
  • Proven record of supplier development.
  • Organised, clear written and oral communicator, customer satisfaction focussed.
