Our mission is to accelerate innovation by delivering a cohesive internal developer platform that combines an enterprise-grade Spotify Backstage portal, Buf Schema Registry, GitOps automation, and cloud-native tooling. As a DevEx Platform Engineer, you’ll architect and own the services, plugins, and pipelines that power a world-class developer experience for thousands of engineers building fraud, risk, marketing, and customer-management solutions.
Must have:
  • Collaborate in a devops environment automating new applications, features, and services.
  • Design and build developer platforms and tools to improve developer experience.
  • Develop and maintain microservices using Python and FastAPI.
  • Create self-service tools and abstractions for efficient application deployment.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement platform solutions.
  • Manage and optimize data infrastructure using MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
  • Establish platform standards around technology, security compliance, and interoperability.
  • Document platform capabilities, best practices, and provide guidance.
  • Champion developer experience improvements through automation, tooling, and process enhancements.

As a DevEx Platform Engineer, you’ll architect and own the services, plugins, and pipelines that power a world-class developer experience for thousands of engineers building fraud, risk, marketing, and customer-management solutions.” – Sr. Director, 1ES Engineering

What You’ll Contribute

  • Collaborate in a devops environment where you will work closely with developers in automating new applications, features, and services.
  • Design and build developer platforms and tools that improve developer experience (DevEx) and accelerate software delivery across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain microservices using Python and FastAPI to support platform capabilities and developer workflows.
  • Create self-service tools and abstractions that empower developers to deploy and manage their applications efficiently.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to streamline the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand pain points and implement platform solutions that enhance productivity.
  • Manage and optimize data infrastructure using MongoDB and PostgreSQL to support platform services.
  • Establish platform standards around technology, security compliance, and systems interoperability.
  • Document platform capabilities, best practices, and provide guidance to development teams.
  • Champion developer experience improvements through automation, tooling, and process enhancements.

What We’re Seeking

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong experience of 3+ years with Python development, particularly with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience of 3+ years with MongoDB and PostgreSQL in production environments.
  • Proficiency with Git workflows and GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation.
  • Experience building developer tools, platforms, or internal products that improve engineering productivity.
  • Understanding of cloud-native architectures and containerization technologies.
  • Strong focus on developer experience with the ability to empathize with and understand developer needs.
  • DevOps experience is a plus, particularly in areas of infrastructure automation and monitoring.
