Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Power Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects and be a key contributor in the design, analysis, and implementation of innovative power systems solutions. Your typical day will involve designing, analyzing, and implementing power systems solutions, developing technical specifications, conducting simulations and tests, collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing technical support, evaluating new technologies, and participating in proposal development and technical presentations.
Good To Have:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with renewable energy systems
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
  • Certified Internal Auditor
  • Ability to coordinate several projects/tasks simultaneously
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems design and analysis
  • Proficiency in power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP)
  • Strong knowledge of power systems design and analysis tools, including MATLAB and Simulink
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Who will you be working with?

This position is located in our small, but growing, manufacturing and overhaul/repair facility. We primarily manufacture and overhaul components for the transit industry (subway and commuter rail). We have been in operation for over 50 years and offer fantastic benefits and stable work environment. Benefits include medical/dental/vision as well as many supplemental options at low rates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Main responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned, per business needs):

  • Design, analyze, and implement power systems solutions for a range of applications
  • Develop technical specifications for power systems components and equipment
  • Conduct simulations and test power systems to validate performance and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and project managers
  • Provide technical support to customers and other stakeholders
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies and innovations in the field to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in proposal development and participate in technical presentations to clients and stakeholders

Employee is required to stand for up to 4 hours per day. Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds with crane assistance. Requires daily face-to-face interaction with employees on production line.

Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor manufacturing environment. The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities to include but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes usage, and forklift traffic. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.

Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn, apply and teach new information or skills; and interact with other employees, customers and vendors.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
