Job Summary

At Autodesk, the Cyber Defense - IAM team focuses on securing and enhancing the organization’s digital ecosystem. This Principal IAM Security Engineer role involves acting as a Subject Matter Expert for AWS Security and IAM platforms, managing and supporting various identity security tools like SailPoint, Entra ID, and CyberArk. The position requires implementing identity governance, overseeing PAM and Access Management, enhancing MFA solutions, and leading RBAC and service account governance initiatives. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers and participating in on-call rotations.

Must Have

Act as a Subject Matter Expert for AWS Security and Identity & Access Management (IAM) platforms.
Manage and support SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, Entra ID (Azure AD), AWS, and CyberArk platforms.
Implement and uphold identity governance best practices for enterprise identities and service accounts.
Oversee Privileged Account Management (PAM) and Access Management for critical systems.
Maintain and enhance Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions.
Lead initiatives related to Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and service account governance.
8+ years of experience in Security Engineering, with a focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM).
3+ years of experience leading a team, including managing and mentoring security engineers.
Expertise in AWS Security, SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, Entra ID (Azure AD), PAM, and Access Management solutions.
Hands-on experience with service account management, RBAC, SSO, and MFA solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for AWS Security and Identity & Access Management (IAM) platforms, supporting both enterprise and customer systems
Manage and support SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, Entra ID (Azure AD), AWS, and CyberArk platforms
Implement and uphold identity governance best practices for enterprise identities and service accounts
Oversee Privileged Account Management (PAM) and Access Management for critical systems
Maintain and enhance Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solutions, with a focus on evolving towards password less authentication
Lead initiatives related to Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and service account governance
Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support for daily operations
Manage and oversee deliverables and day-to-day tasks for the junior engineering team
Participate in the on-call rotation to respond to incidents as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
8+ years of experience in Security Engineering, with a focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM)
3+ years of experience leading a team, including managing and mentoring security engineers
Expertise in AWS Security, SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, Entra ID (Azure AD), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Access Management solutions
Hands-on experience with service account management, RBAC, SSO, and MFA solutions
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $142,200 and $229,900. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
