Job Summary
SailPoint’s Cybersecurity organization is seeking a Senior Manager of Security Architecture and Engineering to lead a team of subject matter experts. This role involves aligning strategy and enablement of SailPoint solutions, driving continuous improvements in infrastructure and systems security posture, and partnering cross-functionally. The successful candidate will contribute to roadmap development, ensure compliance, and mentor talent, reporting directly to the CISO. This impactful role focuses on protecting the organization and contributing to the global cyber ecosystem.
Must Have
- Provide leadership and guidance for a team of subject matter experts in various security architecture capabilities.
- Design and implement a comprehensive strategy to deliver continuous improvements on our infrastructure and systems security posture.
- Partner cross-functionally with key business partners to influence and ensure alignment and support for the Security Architecture and Engineering mandate.
- Align and collaborate with leaders within Cyber Security on a strategy to support their functions with technical solutions and expertise.
- Drive operational excellence and delivering continued program improvements in a manner that meets compliance and regulatory requirements and aligns with and supports the risk posture of the organization.
- Contribute to cyber security roadmap development for enterprise level systems and ensure alignment with overall security strategy.
- Ensure the completion of technical evaluations and annual refresh of capabilities includes appropriate due-diligence and best practice assessments.
- Collaborate with multi-functional IT disciplines to ensure proper controls are implemented in our infrastructure and application environment.
- Establish and oversee the Security Architecture governance framework ensuring integration with the IT Operating model.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to meet overall business objectives.
- Develop, mentor, and lead resources internal and external to the Security Architecture & Engineering and SailPoint respectively.
- Meet FedRAMP access requirements.
- 10+ years of work experience in cybersecurity, including at least 3 years in leadership roles.
- Excellent leadership skills, accomplishing complex tasks and objectives through collaboration with and management of others.
- An understanding of complex enterprise systems.
- Top notch written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical expertise, close attention to detail, critical thinking, logic, a solution orientation and an ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Experience creating and maintaining a staffing strategy, efficient assignment of responsibilities, and regular metrics/reporting.
- Complex decision-making skills, with an ability to clearly convey the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and a recommendation.
- Experience innovating to find creative solutions that balance the needs of the business with the needs of security.

Job Description
SailPoint’s Cybersecurity organization is seeking a leader with a passion for cybersecurity and protecting the organization. The successful candidate will serve as our Senior Manager of Security Architecture and Engineering and be responsible for aligning strategy and enablement of SailPoint solutions across a team of subject matter experts.
We’re seeking a leader with domain expertise who also has experience leading people and teams and is accustomed to achieving objectives through the motivation of others. They’ll embrace the opportunity to work across diverse portfolio with a variety of resources and will play a key role as we continually improve our capabilities over time. They’ll help shape our strategy and future in collaboration with the rest of the cyber leadership team and will work through all dimensions of cybersecurity – people, process, and technology – to achieve our objectives.
Our new Senior Manager will join an existing, capable team of both emerging and established talent. They’ll have the opportunity to shape our future through process and technology optimization, capability acquisition and development, and maturation of our existing activities. They’ll already be comfortable with the 4 I’s at SailPoint (individual, Impact, Innovation, and Integrity) even if they’re new to the concept. They will embrace new challenges and will be a positive contributor to an already positive work culture and environment.
This is a challenging and impactful role where you will have the opportunity to work with both internal and external stakeholders, drive the continuous improvements of our security program, contribute meaningfully to the security of the global cyber ecosystem, and serve as an ambassador for SailPoint to our customers and the public.
This role reports directly to the CISO and can be remote or based in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities

Benefits and Compensation listed vary based on the location of your employment and the nature of your employment with SailPoint.
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the SailPoint Corporate Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission, along with potential eligibility for equity participation. SailPoint maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect SailPoint’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity. We estimate the base salary, for US-based employees, will be in this range from (min-mid-max, USD):
$166,000 - $237,200 - $308,400
Base salaries for employees based in other locations are competitive for the employee’s home location.
