Job Summary
GoDaddy is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for its Information Security Software Engineering (ISE) Group. This remote role involves architecting and building AI-enhanced microservices to defend against sophisticated security threats like malware, DDoS attacks, data breaches, phishing campaigns, and bot attacks at a global scale. The engineer will own critical security infrastructure from conception to production, leveraging AWS cloud technologies and modern development practices to create intelligent detection and response systems that protect millions of customers. The mission is to deliver security solutions that support a culture of innovation and customer success.
Must Have
- 8+ years of working experience in large scale system architecting, design, development, testing, and release, including microservices, database design, API design, performance tuning, telemetry design and analysis.
- 3+ years of professional experience with Cloud Computing Platforms, such as AWS.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, GoLang, or Java.
- Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools such as ElasticAPM.
- Demonstrated experience of leading big initiatives spanning multiple teams and organizations and leveraging deep domain expertise to influence product roadmap.
- A strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Experience leading a project teams of engineers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Location Details:
At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.
GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

Your experience should include...

For this role, our targeted base pay ranges for new hires in each US Group are:
- Group 1: $137,000.00 – $206,000.00
- Group 2: $153,500.00 – $230,500.00
- Group 3: $163,200.00 – $244,800.00
- Group 4: $178,500.00 – $267,500.00
