Job Description

The Principal Software Engineer for World-Check Content Curation is a technical specialist in frontend development, leading the analysis, definition, development, testing, and modification of information systems to meet business needs. This role ensures compute architecture supports critical business applications and develops high-level continuance plans. The position requires extensive knowledge of frontend technologies, the ability to craft and implement technical solution designs, and to advise as a software development SME. The engineer will lead critical projects, mentor team members, and build relationships with stakeholders, contributing to a diverse and collaborative environment.
Must have:
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of frontend technologies.
  • Provides direction, mentoring, and advising on design, development, and implementation best practices.
  • Crafts and implements technical solution designs and resolves issues.
  • Supports technical roadmaps for solution strategy.
  • Advises stakeholders as a software development SME.
  • Evaluates new technology and proposes patterns for its use.
  • Leads the delivery of critical projects autonomously.
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicates complex technical information clearly.
  • Deep hands-on experience with frontend development (Javascript, React JS, CSS, HTML, Playwright).
  • Experience with Web application standards and REST API's.
  • Experience with automation, web deployment, and engineering environment tools (Jira, GitLab, Confluence, Postman, VS Code, Copilot AI Agent).
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodologies, technical delivery planning, and delivery risk analysis.
  • Proven problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Job Details

The World-Check Risk Intelligence delivers accurate and reliable information and the tools to help meet due diligence obligations, including meeting your requirements under KYC (Know Your Customer) screening and anti-money laundering. The role requires a technical specialist in frontend development and encouraging leader in key element(s) of the technical analysis, definition, develop, construction, testing, installation and modification of accurately engineered information systems to meet agreed business needs. Ensuring compute architecture supports the execution of critical business applications and develops high-level continuance plans in the event of a lapse in the architectural infrastructure. Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrates an extensive knowledge of frontend technologies and/or thought leadership level of a technology, providing direction, mentoring and advising others on design, development and / or implementation best practice and processes
  • Continues to build and demonstrates a breadth of knowledge of various domains within technology, understanding the linkages and dependencies of projects/work and the key senior stakeholders
  • Crafts and implements technical solution designs and resolves issues
  • Supports technical roadmaps for the timely implementation of a technical solution strategy
  • Advises stakeholders internally as a software development SME, applying deep expertise of software development
  • Evaluates how new technology or techniques may better implement the strategy, proposes patterns for its use and owns the development of reference code to set a standard
  • Leads the delivery of critical projects, working autonomously and with little direction; may ensure completion of work from other team members, mentoring and delegating work when required
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other business units.
  • Communicates sophisticated / technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Deep hands-on experience with frontend development (Javascript, React JS, CSS, HTML, Playwright) including design pattern, performance tuning, and security
  • Experience with Web application standards and REST API's (Web services, JSON, HTTP, HTTPS)
  • Experience with automation, web deployment and engineering environment tools such as Jira, GitLab, Confluence, Postman, VS Code and Copilot AI Agent
  • Experience with LSEG Element framework and Design System is advantage
  • Experience with business and technical analysis, quality assurance, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance is advantage
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodologies and technical delivery planning and delivery risk analysis
  • Proven problem solving and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
